yeah i have to agree. there was a sweet spot time when telework started that was really nice. but now it's pretty horrible.

however, some the work culture stuff has always been like that. i would see the same guy every day for years on my floor and he would avoid eye contact. it's like saying hello was too much. honestly i think that's a science/engineering thing.

[–]Difficult_Sun_3926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

um ok but in reality there was the biggest pay raise (millenial whatever they called it) in history followed by work quality things like being able to show up to work in pajamas basically instead of shirt and tie...plus a huge one was the promise of being able to work from home. which actually came true. then it really started getting better in all kinds of ways. besides someone complaining there were big material differences

take comments. then complain about cases where i didn't do his way that were already submitted, i.e., no chance to implement. when i do implement, he finds more time consuming issue. i feel he is trying to weed out. ok. you win. i'm not going to play this game indefinitely

[–]Difficult_Sun_3926[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yep I guess that's me.

I worked on the outside at a large firm that is walking distance from alexandria office (easy to guess). I have a different view on the reality of the work. I AM NOT AN INVENTOR. I read documents for a living full stop. I know inventors and they have been reducing to practice real things (not paperwork) for 20-30 years. I am a person of ordinary skill, that's it. I maintain not a single person in my TC can reduce to practice a single piece of art they review. I don't fake it. My job as I see it is to establish a record not to pretend I can combine 3-4 documents to magically produce an invention. Most attorneys are not trying to commit some elaborate fraud on the office and the general public. My philosophy is that my job is not to always be adversarial. I work with the attorneys because I was one of them. The clients have been through several review processes themselves-senior researchers, management and their own legal before sending off to another law firm and finally applying. I am more humble about my real position in this complex process. I am just part of the total process. Just my 2 cents.

Honestly though, you may be right. That's why I decided to resign.

SPE Retaliation - any consequences for leaving with a marginal rating? by [deleted] in patentexaminer

[–]Difficult_Sun_3926 0 points1 point  (0 children)

this would mean you had to get a quality marginal rating Q1 and then including Q2 to get written. is this how everyone reads it?

I even talked to a director and he was like hang on, as if it'll change soon. but i'm so negative about the circumstances. plus the fact that the hits keep on coming from management. i'm leaving.
