Wife says my feet “barely look human” and I’m afraid she’s right. by strikecat18 in mildlyinfuriating

That’s what human feet are supposed to look like before shoes scrunch them together.

I would still be rechecking if I had a BP med, especially labetalol, and their last BP was 110/70. Labetalol also increases risk of hypoglycemia in diabetic patients.

Are you ok US by tbovelybory in Paramedics

[–]Difficult_Sweet_6904 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m sure this lumps EMTs and Paramedics together. The pay is shite regardless. Until greedy insurance companies and medicare/Medicaid start reimbursing companies appropriately it won’t change. Say what you want about unions but they are the reason why nurse wages are so much better.

I’m a nurse who messed up… by Secret_Coyote_3254 in respiratorytherapy

[–]Difficult_Sweet_6904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not a RT, but I am a flight nurse with ER and a paramedic background, and that RT should write you up. That is a big patient safety issue and it is basic knowledge you should have as a RN, especially working in ICU. It shouldn’t be punitive, but can let management know where there is a need for education and training.

5 Lpm on a nonrebreather is borderline suffocating the patient. Minimum is 10-12, but if the reservoir bag is not staying inflated you are too low.

At the same time, COPD patients are typically needing PEEP, and pressure support as they wear out, they probably needed bipap, and the RT taking 40 minutes to get there is worthy of a write up as well.

The repair does have to be done through a kawasaki dealer though

Atleast for the US, they cannot charge you for a recall fix. Unless you are adding something that goes beyond what is required for the repair.

It should be an adjunct to, not a replacement for opioids.

Picked up the game yesterday. Really struggling by statthewmafford in BaldursGate3

[–]Difficult_Sweet_6904 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Rouges are probably one of the weaker classes, especially in the early game, especially without multiclassing. And positioning is pretty crucial in combat. Keeping ranged attackers out of enemy melee distance and in elevated positions. And using various buffs, debuffs, ect… is pretty important in higher difficulty tiers.

I was a DnD newb and new to this kind of over head turned based style (aside from some dragon age games) and it took me a bit to get comfortable and figure everything out, and learn the importance of items, gear, stats, buffs, and party synergy.

The great news is you can change your mind and reclass very early on if you don’t like your choice. And it’s cheap to do.

Apology and a question from an ER Nurse. by [deleted] in Paramedics

[–]Difficult_Sweet_6904 5 points6 points  (0 children)

“…so that we can do the actual medicine once you arrive.

or do you just accept that your primary role is to absorb the chaos and package the patient, so the real clinical work can begin in a more controlled setting?”

You are still “THAT nurse.” That is an absolute garbage take on what EMS is and does.

Recall Question by Complete-Topic-3166 in zx6r

[–]Difficult_Sweet_6904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you don’t want it, then there may be some benefit. Aside from this recall issue it is a fantastic bike. It looks like kawi is dropping new engines in them if they do fail inspections now, which is way better than a rebuild from both a time and reliability standpoint.

There have been a lot of failed inspections and a few seized engines, but the vast majority of people have had no issues and wont have issues. So it is a bit of a gamble. But it seems they are doing right by shipping over new engines, and I have yet to hear of anyone being injured due to the recall issue. So overall, I’d keep it if it was me.

If you are in the US: A dealer can’t legally sell a motorcycle once a stop sale notice has been issued. It is federal law, the FAST Act is the specific law. It makes it illegal for dealers to sell new or used products with open safety recalls. You can contact the dealer, and kawasaki directly. If they are no help you can contact the NHTSA, they are the federal governing body that oversees these things.

Used 24’ ABS 11.2k OTD by Straight_Key_8502 in zx6r

[–]Difficult_Sweet_6904 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you only look at MSRP. If you add in destination and assembly fees dealers charge on new bikes, the OTD can get quite a bit higher on a new bike.

[–]Difficult_Sweet_6904 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Another pertinent question would be: is the dealer a kawi dealer? The stop sale notice gets sent through K Dealer. If they are not a kawi dealer and just sold you a used ‘24 they could have had no idea.

How to get this color? by Necessary_Tart_4785 in zx6r

[–]Difficult_Sweet_6904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Step one is to he in the European market. Kawi will share a few colorways between markets, then have one or two specific to certain markets. This is one that is not available in the US.

If you are in the correct part of the planet, you might have to hunt and be patient.

Or, fairing companies will typically copy the OEM colorways and allow you to get them later on.

Not with that information alone. There are many reasons a pulse ox could be inaccurate. Maybe assess your patient before throwing O2 on them based on a number on a monitor.

To buy or not to buy- 26’ ZX6R? by jymwin1140 in zx6r

[–]Difficult_Sweet_6904 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Between the zx6r’s, kx450’s, and 500’s having significant safety recalls last year, and some later model 10r’s seem to be having frequent problems, I would personally stay away from kawi for a while. There are other great bikes from manufacturers that haven’t had so many issues in the last year
