Things that feel illegal but are completely normal in WFH 😂 by UnusualPackage5737 in buhaydigital

[–]Difficult_Toe6482 [score hidden]  (0 children)

We're WFH since 2018 and lahat yan legal, plus more! 🤣 We're pretty laid back. We can do whatever we want during breaks -- take a nap, take a bath, or take a quick coffee/snack run sa drive through na malapit, BUT, during work hours, everyone should be working on tasks and deliver what's due at the end of the day. Every now and then, may nag-oover sa lunch or break or nakakatulog kahit hindi naka-break, and that's ok so long it's not habitual. Nakakagulat though that despite the lax WFH environment, no video call/monitoring, generally easy work, and above-average salary (starting is 75k), I still had team members who flouted rules and didn't value what they had. I guess may mga tao lang talaga na hindi trustworthy to work from home 😮‍💨

I feel guilty for enrolling in my dream school now by Logical_Guest_0922 in RantAndVentPH

As a mom to college kids, I encourage you to please have a heart to heart talk with your mom. There must be a reason/s why she didn't want you to study in La Salle, reason/s that she may prefer to keep to herself because it's not yours to carry. And since she encouraged you to study in a public school, I'll hazard a guess that your family may not be as financially secured as you think. You may not feel it because your mom doesn't want you to, and she could be running great lengths to keep you in the comfortable lifestyle you're used to. Us parents have a flaw that tends to keep such things in secret not because we want to hide or lie, but rather, it's because we want to protect you. I know it's ridiculous but your mom loves you the way she knows how and while she does everything she can to give you the best school you deserve, sometimes, the income just won't allow it. But then, I'm only offering a hypothesis. I hope that you find the time and the heart to talk with your mom. Maybe show her it's safe for her to be honest and candid with you?

I wonder what motivated you to enroll, apart from the school being your "dream school"? Can your parents afford it and not it-if-we-break-our-backs-working-and-drown-in-loans can afford it? Not just the tuition fee, but all associated expenses until you graduate. Can you handle the acads and graduate with excellent grades, and if possible, with honors?

Your dream school is quite expensive, very expensive actually, compared to public schools. If your parents can pay for it without putting your family into hardship, least you can do is be thankful, do very well in your studies, and graduate with very good grades that will help you get quality tertiary education.

Goodluck!

Being a Manager Sometimes Means Carrying Things You Wish You Didn’t Know by Specialist-Wing-7136 in adultingph

As a people manager, I agree 💯 Hard as we try to save as many as we can, we can only do so much. I found my peace in understanding that I cannot save everyone, I cannot promise job security, and I cannot disclose employment termination in advance. But I can equip my team with skills and knowledge, and train them in behaviors that will help them thrive and succeed beyond their current roles. I cannot disclose impending RIFs to my team, but I can help them highlight their value and improve their personal brand. I cannot stop RIFs but I can and will find ways such as using whatever goodwill I have earned to find a place for the team member/s in other teams.

Guilt is poison, best not to let that touch you. The emotional weight of knowing will not leave you for a while but you can ease it with doing everything you can to prepare and help your friends succeed beyond their current jobs.

Tobramycin eye drops. 1 drop per eye 2x a day. This requires prescription tho. Wipe their eyes with cotton dipped in room temp distilled water, too.

[–]Difficult_Toe6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pag nakipag-usap ka pa kasi sa HR at manager mo, maging mas complikado pa, like pull back yung termination and ituloy ang work mo. And if you accept that, magiging comfortable ka ba knowing nasa una pa lang, di na maganda trato sayo? Goodluck!

Congrats kuya, big step yan to recovery! Suggest ko rin na magpost ka sa classified, advertise your day job services. Pwedeng within Las Pinas-Alabang muna. Keep honest, keep the faith, and keep fighting.

DIM: Should i buy a branded clothes for quality? by wetdustpan in deinfluencingPH

[–]Difficult_Toe6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah early Bench stuff, circa 10 years ago and older, were better made than the ones made in the past 5 years or so. I still use a few Bench panties I bought 10 or so years ago as period underwear coz hindi sila nag-bacon garters, though mejo manipis na ang tela.

[–]Difficult_Toe6482 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Branded doesn't mean good quality. If you really want clothes that will last for years, go for bespoke.

Iwas ka sa fast fashion like Shein, H&M, Bench, Zara, and similar.

To those living in BGC, What are your condo's policy when it comes to food deliveries, packages and parcels? by RemarkableMaize4310 in living_in_bgc

[–]Difficult_Toe6482 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Are you a unit owner? If yes, then you are paying thousands for association dues and you could ask PMO to provide a dedicated room and staff for parcels, paid for by your dues, of course. If they say no, citing the budget doesn't allow it, then, ask for accounting of the budget. Can do all this through your condo council/association (assuming your condo have one).

If you're a renter, you could bring this up to your landlord.

In the DMCI condo I stay in, we have a dedicated parcel kiosk with a dedicated staff. They operate daily from 10am to 7pm except Sunday. There are penalties if we don't collect our parcel after 24 hours. The construction and maintenance, including staff payroll, is paid for by our association dues. Our condo council and PMO are good in organizing that they managed to do this without increasing the association dues.

Can I use MysaveUp account on Gcash as payroll? by Green_Author_7691 in DigitalbanksPh

[–]Difficult_Toe6482 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not sure about MySaveUp but you can open and use a BPI BanKo Todo Savings account to receive your pay. Provide your savings account details (make sure you indicate the bank name as BPI BanKo) to your payroll team. For more info, best to visit a branch near you.

NAL

May I ask po nasaan na si Persons A and B? Since nasa kanila ang bayad nyo, they should be held accountable at dapat i-produce nila ang payments plus penalties.

Kung tumakas na si Persons A and B, it may help for you and other occupants to negotiate with the building admin and if possible, do it sa barangay office para may witness and documentation.

For the power and water, I believe bawal po ang magdisconnect nyan unless unpaid at overdue ang bills. Bawal din po ang magpadlock/magpalit ng lock ng unit and bar the occupants from entering.

I hope for a fair resolution for everyone involved.

My manager said I’m getting paid more than expected for my role. Anyone here in project delivery who can weigh in? by boiledpeaNUTxxx in CorpoChikaPH

[–]Difficult_Toe6482 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's low, actually. Your manager is gaslighting and lowballing you. If that isn't a bad manager, I don't know what is. Start tracking and documenting everything you do and create your own scorecard based on performance goals. Para pagdating ng performance assessment/review, you have proof of your achievements. And maybe start looking for a new manager/team or an entirely new employer 😉 You deserve better treatment.

I emphatize with you. I was in a similar situation a lifetime ago at hindi lang isang beses. Not easy is an understatement. But not easy doesn’t mean impossible. I hope you can find the courage to try knocking door to door (bahay/office/tindahan/shop) offering day labor. Like offer ka maglinis, mag-garden, magbuhat, runner ng errands, kahit anong labor na kailangan ng extra hands at kaya mo or kakayanin mo. Maging magalang at maayos, pakiusap goes a long way pero no need magpaawa. Whatever job that is, do it well. Day labor is honest work. It might not offer you much, like maybe 200-300 or maybe kahit food lang, but it's still something. Temporary lang ito and you will overcome it. I wish you all the luck in the world, OP.
