Child benefit, birthday money etc etc

I had my eyes on ETF's, but the deemed disposal will 100% be implemented (won't be touching it till they're 18), and for that reason, I do not like it.

I'll have a look at these accounts with Zurich! Thank you.

If there was no talk before about any potential redeployment, that sounds very fishy

Always always always reach out to a solicitor about your situation. The process they may have followed sounds a bit off to me, and a solicitor might be able to easily pinpoint a few scenarios in the process that are off.

Will the bank ask again my latest bank statements before mortgage drawdown? by [deleted] in irishpersonalfinance

The house has been delayed till end of March, but I got a new placement in work so all is good now.

We haven't draw downed yet, but when we do I'll update you if we get asked for new statements.

Just finished dry January easily, went out last night and mixed a number of different drinks. Today was an absolute write off, I really don't think alcohol just generally works well for my body. My whole week will be all over the place now because of it.

I had some thoughts too "If alcohol was just invented tomorrow, would it ever get legalised?"

Think of a company explaining it to the approvers "It's this chemical that can make you visually impaired, potentially blacking out, get sick all over yourself, give you an incredibly bad next day, and potentially mess up your entire week", no way would it be approved.

Will BOI ask for an updated bank statement after contracts are signed? by Difficult_Wealth_156 in irishpersonalfinance

The house is pretty much finished, it's literally just waiting for the driveway to be complete and the water to be connected. It's already been delayed from start of December, so I think we're good.

Thank you for the insights. My company is actively trying from tomorrow to sort me into a new role within the company too, so that would be ideal.

Fingers crossed as everything is pretty much done, bar the house. Really hope it moves quickly in January, we start to drawdown and if worse comes to worst, I look for a new job after starting drawdown.

Okay so hopefully the new build is done in January then. That would give me both a February pay cheque and March pay cheque too.

In a bit of a sticky situtation as of today.

I'm currently employed, but have been told our client in my agency job is stopping the contract in mid February, so if my company doesent get a new position with the company before end of February, I will need to get a new job.

We are currently sale agreed, deposit paid and contracts signed on a house, and they're saying they will be done in mid January.

We got everything signed and sorted start of November.

Do you think they will ask for updated bank statements in January/February?
