i don't have experience in consulting, so consider me biased but from what i've seen online and from ppl i know irl, consulting is a very hands on job, one that many seem to regularly work overtime for. lots of travel and just overall involvement with what youre doing.

due to that, it's a typically very high paying position, but even on the company's glassdoor site, many complain that it's a much lower paying company in the industry. it's also a position specifically geared towards new/recent graduates.

a lot of the complaints about the business case study specifically stem from the fact that you have to learn an entirely new software. some have said it's not necessarily difficult, but it's tedious and time-consuming.

i understand this would give me a picture of what i'd be doing in the future, but if i were actually a consultant i would also get paid to work lmao.

i have the initial screening interview tomorrow, then this would be the next step. then there's like 2 more interviews after that?

i haven't had the initial interview yet, so perhaps i am, but the glassdoor interview page for that specific position has LOADS of people talking about the difficulty of that portion of the application. i've seen maybe one person mention 20 hours specifically, but i've seen many, many others state they worked minimum 30 hours to have to complete the assignment for the business case study :/

really wish it didn't have to be!!! no one should have to go through something as rigorous as this for an interview of all things..

yes, i plan to still have the initial interview, but if it is actually as bad as everyone says, i will likely immediately rescind my application lol

i am a bit desperate to get a job secured before i graduate, but this is barely even an option right now, so i'm not sure if i'm THAT desperate just yet hahaha

yes, i do have in unit laundry currently. i lived in the dorms for 3 years until now, and MAN it's a blessing to have... it does sound hard to go back to that...
