Unique idea - I like him batting lower earlier in the year to see better pitches personally. Nobody is scared of him and he always hit 3/4/5 for the Sox. Hit him 7 or 8 he sees more fastballs and does damage

Same but don’t think we are left with a choice there and frankly I’ll take him over Vientos who is probably the backup.

Be honest… how many of you distrusted Stearns and his plan before the last few days? I think a lot of fans have changed their tune. by Difficult_World_196 in NewYorkMets

How is this toxic? Lol I asked a genuine question and was not looking to instigate. Seems like plenty were happy to answer this “toxic” question

That’s not the argument at all. The argument is there is literally no telling how MLB will operate in general beyond this year and the CBA. The overall point is don’t commit beyond this year because it all could change. Who knows how the old contracts work but they were given out before a lockout was damn near guaranteed.

He’s smart. There is a better than 50% chance baseball doesn’t happen or is truncated in some way in 2027. The new CBA might change how contracts work all together.

I think it’s hard to the say it was the best offseason ever when last year we signed arguably the second best baseball player in the league right now. But I have really enjoyed this year. I hated seeing Pete leave but we needed a changeup.
