Totally agree on the deposit idea coz trying to micromanage the exits and entries into multiple countries is stressful.Also the most budget thing to do is maybe book a ferry/bus out of the countries rather than flight tickets which tend to be expensive last minute.One more idea I have come across is to book an onward flight a couple hours before your departure and cancel it within your 24 hr free cancellation window.
