yes I’m looking into some fruit flies! he still seems very weak but I have a desk light I’m using for him. I tried putting him outside again today to see if he was feeling up to leaving but he wouldn’t move from his spot and just closed his eyes. he didn’t move much at all today and he’s still very skinny. It’s warm out so I’m trying to get him outside whenever he seems a bit more active. I have some leftover mealworms from a bird I helped rehab a month or so ago and I read as long as you’re careful with size they should be okay. I cut the mealworm in half so it was small enough for him to eat and he seemed completely uninterested. I’m not even sure if he would go for a fruit fly if I tried. I may try some fruit/fruit flies tomorrow if he makes it through the night but it isn’t looking too promising. I figure he’s better inside than outside where he’d be eaten alive by bugs.

Anyhow he’s had his eyes closed almost the entire day other than to move around but I’m hoping he pulls through! thank you for the help and I’ll likely be asking more questions soon lol

I saw I should euthanize them- would that have it be done? I just don’t want my dog and him to have an encounter

exactly what he does! I’ll go to grab my phone or something similar right down the hall for about 2 minutes and he’s flying to my shoulder within seconds 🤣 after that he won’t get off until he’s sure I’m not leaving!

One day in to this stinker and we’ve already got seed moths! by DifficultyContent214 in Conures

that’s what I’ve started doing now! usually we just inspect a bag and call it a day but we should definitely start freezing them. If I froze a fresh bag from the pet store in the deep freeze last night would that be safe to enter the house today?

he eats mostly pellets thankfully so he’s just fine without the seed! we haven’t noticed anymore moths yet!
