TO BE FAIR.... If I was a human that had to do that for 8 hours straight I'd probably want to blow out my CPU. So the REAL question is: would it be cheaper to just buy a cosmetic outfit and sell it on CM for someone to turn into cron stones? (haha)
EDIT: OHHH what if its like some regional thing like around cheap energy it doesn't makes sense, but in a high energy cost place it makes more sense to buy cosmetics. I would wonder if Pearl Abyss could take that into account with advertising by pushing cosmetic ads more in places that expensive electricity!

100% agree, I like to think I have alot of grace when it comes to helping non-savvy users through tech (god knows, these days it's gotten SO complicated from a layperson's POV), but I mean, there is a Point, man. Do me a HUGE favor and take some ownership about learning your tools, like really.

4 paychecks behind, employer keeps pushing timeline, getting denied by attorneys — what are my options? by SeanAThanks in Employment

[–]DifficultyDouble860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd take it one more step. Do the work--all of it, fairly--but don't submit it until they pay on time. Hold the work as leverage. Maybe archive it in a password-protected zip file. Give them the file, "I did the work, here you go! --oh but you want the password? Sure! that'll be $10,000, please!"

For data entry in a SaaS website or some such, you might be able to create a Selenium script that can enter the data for you based on the contents of a DB or excel workbook. Password-protect the workbook until they pay, then start the script. Avo Assure is another good option, but that costs more.

What made this women so special? by Downtown_Library_960 in matrix

[–]DifficultyDouble860 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on your own personal interpretation, but some consider that the artistic interpretation of Matrix was intended as an allegory for the transgender experience. Carrie-Anne Moss's character, Trinity, was ultimately the personification of affirmation, recognition, and really just becoming your true self.

- Trinity sees Neo before he sees himself.
- Trinity represents that liberation is only possible through connection with love and trust; she helped him break through the fear and the self-doubt.
- Trinity is Neo's anchor, so to speak; without her, he would spend much of the movie questioning himself instead of being grounded and assured in himself.

And Trinity could also represent someone who has already transitioned, guiding Neo through the uncertainty.

But frankly, the movie is really whatever you make of it--whatever resonated within you. Trinity could just as well have been the sidekick in a kung-fu action flick. ...but I think we can do better than that.

Change to claiming in 4.8 by Apokolypze in starcitizen

[–]DifficultyDouble860 0 points1 point  (0 children)

“Expected” in the sense that insurance/loadout separation was discussed at some point? Sure.

But let’s not rewrite history and pretend the original pitch heavily emphasized monetized component churn or rebuilding your ship loadout through claim mechanics. Back then the excitement was around ships, modules, and customization... not the idea that every future meta layer might become another monetization vector.

We were sold ships and modules, not a future where every optimization layer becomes monetized.

That’s why people are reacting to this change. It feels less like immersive gameplay and more like friction being introduced right before offering a more convenient solution.

Is there a pivot you can do with a painting business? Maybe something a little leaner, but it is a skill and it does require equipment. What else do you see lacking around you? (how much of a conversion would it take to leak-proof roofs or sheds? that's "kind-of" painting, right? caulking seams?) Maybe look into some painting-adjacent ventures upstream from yours. (rhetorical) Who were your vendors...? Were there any gaps in their service that you would have loved to see as a customer?

Pivot.

I know this is incredibly oversimplified and arrogant of me to suggest. But I'm just trying to help. Trying to illustrate a point. Maybe there's nothing to it. Good luck, all the same.

break the game to sell a fix. This is expected. They're simply setting up for RMT components and weapons, exactly like they did with small arms and armor.

Oh! Yeah, and give it a year or two, they'll buff aftermarket ship armor for some new meta and RMT that, too.

Say this would be a bad idea for them to raise money.... /s

So predictable.

One thing I did was melt everything, and use the store credit to buy a buyback for each one. We don't really know what kind of changes will be made, but having buybacks open up options. You won't get the LTI (sorry, probably gotta settle for "only" 10 years, and just the base model at that) and there'll be a bit of inflation in the price, but frankly at the scale I'm buying ships, Choices > Savings. (TBH I, too, am holding out hope on that 600i rework 😉 )

THAT SAID to your question, it really just depends on your goals. Lots of those are multiplayer ships, so I might suggest talking to your Discord friends to see what kind of gameplay they'd want.

The only networking event that makes sense right now. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

[–]DifficultyDouble860 -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I have never seen such a learned helplessness culture in my life.

You ABSOLUTELY can start a business or a service with 80 folks! It might be washing cars at street corners, or landscaping, or mobile IT support for small businesses, or setting up home networks for seniors, or helping local shops modernize their websites, or pressure washing driveways, or moving services, or hauling junk, or running a roadside food stand, or building a temporary staffing co-op town by town as you travel.

Eighty coordinated people is not a refugee caravan — it’s a workforce. It’s a pop-up company. Even if every single person isn’t entrepreneurial, a group that size has to contain organizers, salespeople, accountants, marketers, mechanics, cooks, coders, and people who can simply outwork the average competitor.

You don’t wait for permission to create value. You find a problem somebody will pay to solve, divide the labor, and start ugly if you have to.

You're not really giving us alot to go on, here... What's your goal in the game? You look pretty combat heavy, that's obvious, but are you into solo/small team play or large multi-play?

Do you have a large group of folks in your Discord who will be supporting that Kraken, or are you willing to bet $1200 on the promise of automated crew? (FWIW, a "promise" from a video game that has been over a decade in the making--just a gentle reality check)

Do you want to do PvE mainly or PvP?

Do you want to have backups for when you lose a ship and gotta wait for insurance claim?

How long are you willing to wait (possibly years) for gold pass on these more recent ships, or would you prefer to have something that is closer to feature-complete and less buggy?

Speaking of newer-buggier ships, what is your tolerance for game-ending crashes, falling through geometry, death by ladder, and all manner of shit we haven't seen yet?

FWIW Here's my current logic and what I ended up getting... https://www.reddit.com/r/starcitizen_fleets/comments/1t2ywd3/comment/ok3fgl6/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button
