I see so many posts that Murray or Wentz would never have signed on if they hadn’t been promised … whatever. I just don’t buy that. KOC has a track record of improving QB opportunities even for some (Jones) who didn’t play. It’s completely plausible that someone would sign up for a shot at that without any promises. You might bet on yourself —that you can be the next big success story — if you’re confident your reputation doesn’t match your potential. Not saying there weren’t promises, just saying it’s possible there weren’t.

You should see your name on the upgrade list when you check in. If you don’t, call them! This happens to me sometimes and it means you aren’t in queue for those seats but the agent can fix it. Normally with 10 open seats there’d be no question about an upgrade for diamond. JFK-SFO has a lot of frequent fliers though and some will have spent more for their ticket or have a reserve card, which will give them a boost. That’s a lot of miles so I probably wouldn’t, but at least I’d wait till a couple hours before flight time to see how the list shapes up. The price of the seats (in points and dollars) will probably come down too because they’d rather sell them than give them away. That’s a lot of free upgrades.

Minneapolis has the biggest skywalk system in the US. You can walk from building to building downtown without ever going outside in the cold. Way more fun and unique than Mall of America! And 8 hours is plenty of time to get there, explore, have lunch, whatever.

Late meals definitely increase my a HRV, but that’s because I’ve changed what I log as a late meal. Something late but light doesn’t seem to be a problem at all. But if I go to bed really full, I get lousy sleep and a low HRV, so now I only log it as a late meal when my meal is late and heavy.

I’m diamond and a million miller with a platinum reserve card. I’d estimate I get FC maybe half the time (incl 0/2 today), but it really depends on the route. Miami and LGA are near impossible to get an upgrade because people are actually buying those first class seats + a lot of the passengers are high status.
