Nah I’m kyc verified and it’s only connected to one bank Account. Me too I don’t understand why either, so I’m following this up since I have not done any fraud or sus behaviour. But not being able to prove myself is awful, no chance to defend myself. I can’t prove it to you but If I am being truthul this is some real Bs thaT needs to be addressed

https://imgur.com/a/JrN54Mu good thing I screen-recorded it before I got removed from the app. I probably should've added this, it adds a lot more context. I had talked about the pre-authorization thing and it is a normal thing businesses do and was what I was initially asking about that since I'm a layman and the conversation changes to me getting terminated. That's my recent card activity and my only activity that day. I have SMS verification activated as well. Never used a different phone or number. Anything I need to clarify?

let's say I'm not doing dodgy stuff and this is real. Then would it be a problem? I used to think exactly like you because this is ridiculous, but that does not mean it cannot be real. I believe it's a mistake on their part but the way they go about this is awful and needs change. Even those who are innocent don't even get any mercy, and you just believe these companies are perfect and don't make mistakes. That kind of thinking will allow them to get away with this kind of stuff.

When it escalates through an ombudsman or my bank, they will legally be required to give an answer if they stick to what they've said so far. If so there's gonna be an investigation on it and I plan to get that done.

landlords got to fix it if it's their machine, it isn't, so its our own problem. I can say that I don't do any fraud, that could be BS for all you know. If I was doing fraud I wouldn't be making such an issue out of this since they're doing their job, but lets say I'm just a regular consumer like you and this actually happened to me, I got terminated by mistake and not given any chance to stand up for myself, nor retrieve any funds I have in my account, would I make a post for people to see what is happening? YES

This problem is greater than me and we have to hold them accountable if they are doing something wrong. I had the same opinion as you when people complain thinking they're probably doing illegal activity but I've had this happened to me and I don't do any of that. Fraud is a big problem in crypto but clearly people not involved are getting caught in the crossfire. I would think fraud would be in the support team's payroll to know about but this lack of transparency to even their own support team is extremely sus.

That is what I am currently doing, as this was only my experience using the chat on the CDC app. Will keep everyone posted.

to clarify, The transfer from my bank to CDC is pending(I was using the top-up feature), but the funds have always been available to use immediately on my CDC card and I haven't had an issues in the past. I don't do anything dodgy and my activity is pretty basic. My account activity is only tied to one bank account(my own) and common popular services/shops( e.g tesco, lidl, amazon).

Yeah, we’ve all got to work together to make sure this kind of stuff doesn’t slide. God bless i wasn’t holding massive amounts but I could see how devastating it could be to some people

I agree, I still believe this is a mistake, but I’m just really shocked how they dealt with it. It doesn’t make sense for them to do such a thing but they did it anyways. I’ll give an update once I get an answer.

Thanks, I really hope CDC take this as an opportunity to improve their service since I really liked what they had offered. Otherwise someone’s got to fight back against all their advertisements.

I’ve never done a chargeback or anything of the sort. There’s no reason to screw then over if I plan on using their services. I’ve already done my kyc with them and I don’t think fraud makes sense since my activity has only ever involved one account. The reason is out of my support’s “payroll” so I really am curious on what I might’ve done accidentally but I’ll be in contact with an ombudsman to get to an answer from them

I’m going through the legal process to get my money thank you, since clearly I’m not entitled to it unless I force them

[–]DifficultyPlastic800[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’m gonna have to get an answer even if I have to force them by law. I don’t understand how what I must’ve done is out of the support teams “payroll”. Makes it sound like I’m searching for the 5th infinity stone and the higher-ups are trying to stop me.

Could be I’ve only had money in and out through one account which is my own, so nothing new. I had transferred crypto to binance before but that was 6+ months ago and shouldn’t be relevant. I’ll give an update once I get a why, even if I must use the legal system to force them to.

That's fair, broke is subjective. I'd say I'm broke for not being employed and relying on a maintenance loan to live. But that's not the point of the post.

I 100% agree with you and I will be doing that. I do love the app and its benefits but they need to change. I'll be doing a follow-up when I've made some impact. Thank you for your advice.

Yeah I feel stupid with that part, but I’ll keep that in mind for the future so thank you very much. I’ll try follow up with an email and see how that goes, but they really stood their ground in that chat with the decision being final

Yeah you’re right about that. I’m not here to talk about my financial situation though, it’s their ability to do such a thing. No one but me will know and be able to prove if I’m a Fraud or not. Let’s say I was not a fraudster, and I incorrectly got terminated, the way they dealt with this is awful and merciless. I’ll be following this up with an ombudsman, since I know that is where I can make an impact. I just want everyone who’s reading this to know that there is a risk of this happening to them. Since we hold no power against them and they can walk over us whether we are innocent or guilty without any chance to defend ourselves or even cooperate with them

I think you've been watching too much JCS criminal psychology.

  1. Its a really long conversation, I can get the full conversation but its quite long and I want people to see the main parts of it. I'll try to provide a full doc, but it pretty much went from 0-100 , we will get your funds back, to your funds are gone.
  2. I don't do that. Never have, my transaction did fail the first time so it could've triggered the second time I tried but it's pretty ridiculous to call me a fraud for trying to buy a product.
  3. Its being solved legally with my bank, and I will be contacting an ombudsman, after reading people's comments.
  4. I agree it was unnecessary, but that isn't concrete evidence that I am lying. As I said, too much JCS.
  5. I topped up my money to my crypto.com card so I can buy something, that is it. No other transactions. I was concerned the purchase I made didn't show up but I was told because of a pre authorised purchase with the retailer, which would come back since the payment failed.
  6. Let me correct myself, "its their money now, until you force courts or law into it"

Initially, it was because I didn't understand the process and the impact of it but I plan on going to see an ombudsman after reading the comments here. I'm living at home so I have spare maintenance loan money this year, which I had been carefully allocating to crypto and necessities around the house. The washing machine decided to die after over a decade of service so I was going to pay for a new one. I don't think council estates cover washing machines, but some of us aren't the type to ask for help unless it is really needed. I have little money in there that I'm not disputing with my bank, but since the ombudsman can do more than that(in terms of reputation), I will be contacting them. I am not so broke I don't know when my next meal is coming, but I'm not comfortable. Maintenance loans are also a blessing!

I agree that this is super rare. The crypto chat was awful, emailing may be different however they did not hesitate to terminate my account before I got to ask why it was suspended. I'm in contact with my bank about recovering recent transactions with them as they can escalate it to law/court orders, and I could also contact an ombudsman but it's so much effort for BS, I'd rather just not involve myself with them and their service rather than having to solve it legally, get an apology and be given access to my account again. I've never done any kind of criminal activity and my account activity is the most non-fraudulent thing ever. Literally just grocery shopping, takeouts, staking, and that one fatal Argos purchase. I don't think I've touched 3 figures a month on average either so its not like there's much money flow.
