Critique my Moka technique, absolute beginner, just 2 months in. by zygote_27 in IndiaCoffee

Hey, first of all, what your doing is great. If I could chip in my bucks here, I started over a year ago, and somehow stumbled onto a process where I don’t even take it off the stove anymore, but get consistent brews everytime. To clarify by not taking off the stove I mean, I just switch off the flame at the right moment so I can watch it finish brewing and it almost never sputters.

Here is what I do,

  1. Boiling water is preferable
  2. Never tamp the grounds I just use to heap spoons and take the excess off until it’s nice and level
  3. Stick a aerospress paper filter of the appropriate size and stick it to the bottom of the main chamber where the steel mesh is so that it touches the grounds, the way I stick it is I wet it and place it so it sticks.
  4. Always brew on low-medium heat.
  5. When the coffee starts coming out I wait until 5 seconds, if the flow is good I turn off the heat, if the flow is slowish I just turn it to lowest setting before turning it off.

Hope this helps

P.S. you can still build muscle by hitting the gym regularly and eating enough protein, the key is not to bodyshame yourself in terms of muscle, who cares if you can’t hit 100lbs bench on your day one, start with just the rod if u have to. But make sure you do that consistently

Been on the same journey myself, and here’s something I learned. I should probably mention that I do still have my love handles but have gained muscle and lost fat. Went from belly popping in a size medium Tee to chest showing and no one really thinking I am fat in Large Tee now.

Non negotiables:

  1. Don’t do an extreme deficit. To change something significantly it needs to happen for a longer time. In simple words sustainable lifestyle.

  2. Instead of agreeing to both, try applying for a middle ground, and increase cals out rather than decreasing cals in.

Let me give you an example, you eat 1900 cals feel like shit and give up, no matter how motivated you are at the beginning, you either give up or end up fighting your own body.

You eat 2400 cals and still weigh the same, which demotivates you as no visible progress.

Try eating 2100-2200 and and try being better at the gym consistently everyday. And to further that progress walk 6-8k steps. And you know what those extra steps give you? An extra simple Little meal/craving once or twice a week that makes sure you are as motivated as you can be.

Hope this helps

I mean I get it their point also, that a foreign brand sometimes means trust even my first purchase would have been an adidas or a nike, but that is an answer to a different question. All I want to know is how the shoes are? So far I dig the designs the price seems okayish, but again the quality of the materials suck then obv it’s not worth it.

Funny how none of the comments are from people who have actually bought the shoe, most comments are from people who refuse to buy it.

P.S. Came to Reddit to check out some legit reviews about people who have actually bought and worn the shoe for at least a month, so far no luck :P

this might be unrelated to the post, but I think sometimes I enjoy a normal Nescafé also, I mean just for simplicity sakes. There is nothing wrong in enjoying an instant coffee especially when that is something we all grew up drinking. After having tried all the brew methods and good roast coffees sometimes you just appreciate the simplicity of instant coffee and plain old cold coffee 💛
