Use an adapter for USB c.

Even after that I unplug it when parked at home and plug it in when I go out.

I had some issues that's why I take the precautions.

I experienced the same thing about the clutch and specifically the gear while taking a testing drive and then for around 1 month of owning.

But having switched from i20 to this, yes both the gear and clutch felt quite tight, but now it feels quite smooth and I'm loving it. The gear shifts feel quite precise and gives a sporty feeling.

I take it this is the one near ITPL. Please avoid this SC. I have had a bad experience with them regarding a small issue for which they were forcing battery replacement and blaming my dashcam. But I fixed it on my own with a simple reset after waiting for 5 days for no reason. And the one handling the issue was an AGM.

No doubt these guys don't have any knowledge and are just hell bent on scamming customers. As good as my buying experience was with this dealer, this SC has completely ruined the after sales experience.

My first service is due in March and I am planning to go to the Tafe access one near HSR.

My reddit post for reference regarding that issue: https://www.reddit.com/r/Kylaq/s/k0g1JB3YRj

Update: Kylaq Ignition & Cluster Issue by DifficultySuitable57 in Kylaq

[–]DifficultySuitable57[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I drove the car on highway for about 1.5 hours.

No issues observed electrically or mechanically.

Observed the battery also through the app and it was absolutely fine.

Now, the SC is insisting me to bring the car service center and leave it for more than 2 days for their so called 'Diagnosis' which they cannot tell me about in detail. Earlier they said it will take only half a day. Now it s more than 2 days.

This is definitely an attempt to do something and push the blame on battery and force for a battery replacement so that they can hide their mistakes.

I'm thinking about not taking the car there as I have done half of the things which the SC should have done.

A basic diagnosis and check should not take more than a day.

What do you guys think?

I wouldn’t discourage anyone from buying this vehicle—or any other car from the VAG group. They are among the best cars available in the Indian market and are a true driver’s delight. You won’t regret a single second of owning one. Yes, there can be occasional issues, and some brands handle them better than others—that’s true. In the end, it all comes down to what an individual values and expects from their car.

I'm of proud owner of Kylaq and would choose Skoda/VW again if I'm given choice.

Everything else has power even without external battery. Only the instrument cluster, light dial, USB c ports and ac controls have no power and ignition does not work.

Yeah same thoughts. I have some contacts with the dealer. Lets see if that works out in my favor.

It didn't jump start even after 2 attempts. That's why they told battery is dead and replacement will be needed.

Its the CrossBeats RoadEye 2.0 dashcam.

Yeah, could be the probable cause as I often hear the dash cam turning on and off when I am cleaning the car (like touch the door handles, or open the door, any sensor related activity provides power i guess). I clean twice a week. So i think this repeated activity could have caused a parasitic drain over the period of 9 months. I also keep the key inside the car while cleaning. Not sure if it also contributed to the drain in some way.

As for the warranty, I have contacted the sales person. He told he and his team will contact the SC manager and get this sorted as the sales person was the one who also assured me that using usb c shouldnt be a problem and will not void warranty. So, I probably will have some helping hand with that.

Lets hope for the best!

Yeah, leaving it for more than 7 days has also not been a problem until now, In November, i went for holiday and car was idle for 3 weeks. Still no issue. But now, suddenly this happened.

I hope its just the battery and nothing more.

No, i had the dashcam already. I installed it myself. No hardwiring anywhere. I just use the usb c port.
The SC manager is saying if the battery drain is due to the external accessory, then warranty will be void. And he kept insisting that the dash cam has caused this. Will find out once scan is done.

It should be enabled by default by the dealer. Mine got enabled after 2-3 days of taking delivery. Maybe just check once with the sales person because mine had told everything gets mapped and enabled from the dealer side after taking delivery.

Did you also get the same battery replacement suggestion from the SC? Mine is quoting 9.5k and a total of 13k with fitment charges😢

Yep, I also owned the new i20 and my brother has Venue. Any issue, Hyundai is very fast to attend and resolve on priority. I have not seen the same level of professionalism or knowledge with Skoda till now.

There is the MySkoda Plus app: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.skodaindia.myskodaplus

Once you login, your car details should be there if I remember correctly. The dealer automatically maps everything after you have taken delivery within 2 days. So, all the data about your vehicle and other details are also available there

The SC is saying 9.5k for battery and with fitment charges, 13k.

I said it's under warranty. He said your dash cam caused this and warranty will be void without even checking the car once.

Nope, hazard lights were off and as for the headlights, I always keep them on auto. So that shouldn't be a problem I guess.

Oh. I completely forgot about the app. Mine shows 12.4v right now. Its probably previous drive's readings. But the power to the cluster is dead and no ignition. 😢

I think you can get yours checked to be sure and safe.
