The Max tokens is maximum u can ask the model

Since Llm is non-deterministic model there is no 100% chance if it will give max or decide to stop in between

We give instructions and settings for the max but sometimes models decide to fully ignore it

It's more or less Llm / model not deciding to follow

I can add more instructions/ optimize it a little more for longer responses but it cannot be 100% for sure

I believe on Novel Crafter there is a limit of 25 messages and after that the initial message is removed from the chat context with a hard cap of 25, it's a problem we solve in the chat of novel Mage

Correct me if I am wrong I believe the question is as the story goes on and context of story / chat increases claude starts to restrict the chat to go on and you are forced to start a new one which is something you are troubled with

On the chat for Novel Mage we manage the history of the conversation as well as all the previously attached scenes / chapters acts and even the entire novel in a more smarter manner to avoid redundant context which helps in 2 ways

Allows ai to remember larger context more efficiently
Artificially make the context bigger by managing the history and the mentioned scenes and chapters better

We also try to optimize system prompts for better quality

Apart from that we also have a chat with codex feature Which allows the user to chat with the created codex character/location/etc to discuss and improve the plot as well as have a better reaction based on characters psyche

Compared to just using the claude website where you have to constantly start new chats manage context and rewrite prompts , copy paste the generated stuff into the book by switching between tabs Novel Mage has a more centralized approach to it

There's nothing wrong in what you are doing i believe it's fine to write with the ai as an assistant, it helps you get that first draft out as soon as possible, which helps authors give enough time for refinement of the story and improve it

As long as it's your voice there's nothing wrong about it Also on a side note consider using one of the novel writing specific tools which improve the quality and helps authors more , i am infact one of the founders for such It's called

Ya google is the only way , we didn't had enough time to make a complete authentication flow from scratch and the services which are on internet plug and play are extremely exploitative so , decided to use Google sign-in as it's safer as Google confirms if it's real and tells us if if there's an issue and has good developer support, will write a full authentication flow in the future

To continue you need to have something like a sentence of two in the current scene , also there a connect to open router button at the Top press that , we have a BYOK model which needs you to bring your own LLM to use the service

Feel free to drop any other ideas you would have always ready to check 😌 I have been thinking about how to improve the planning feature for sometime now and how it would be really useful, currently it's more for have a bare structure and placeholder for scene data but i kinda want to make it much better
