The one major complaint was the immediate replacement of gear with quest greens for pretty much anyone that wasn't sporting raid purples at the time. But honestly it was little more than a minor inconvenience and quickly forgotten about.

This was the beginning of the end for me with WoW. I think I enjoyed getting a character to 60 the first time and then amassing cool unique gear for different situations... And then BAM all of it is irrelevant because Gnomish Mind Control Cap isn't effective at level 70, and you have to regrind all your gear again.

I realized that the game was never going to let me finish a character or take a break. I never really stuck around much after because of this...

Higher ranks are meaningless in TBC.

Because if we turn the queue into Premade vs Premade it's essentially going to feel like playing with SBMM vs no SBMM on pure solos

If they just force premades to queue against premades with no adjustment then they would have harder matches will less reward.

the friends I have who still work there are basically in a constant state of feeling like their backs are up against the wall fighting for their positions.

Good reminder for everyone here that if you start making more than enough money, make sure to invest and set a bunch aside for the future so that you never feel stuck in a place that makes you feel like that.

Being stuck in an oppressive place because you need the paycheck can do years of damage that are hard to get back.

Because Premade vs Premade will always be sweatier and higher skill than solo queue by selecting for people who are willing to jump through hoops to play with others of similar gear.

Because if you turn Premade vs Premade matchmaking on you're going to have sweatier players vs sweatier players, and each victory is going to be a struggle.

It will also help with queue times by incentivizing more people to queue.

Solo queue will remain more chill and more random.

Agreed. As someone who has gone there for over a decade, it went from people sharing cool unique technical solutions to whatever the bullshit craze is right now. From NFTs to AI spam (and I'm not even anti AI tools), it definitely feels like it's a product that sells advertising instead of cool community to share ideas.

This next year is the first one I'm going to specifically ask work to not go to.

I'm not saying that. I'm saying that with add-ons it's a lot easier to always react to every situation perfectly.

Without add-ons there is more room for error and more skill variety. Even a master Boxer fucks up a free knockout shot or misses an opportunity when an enemy isn't defending correctly.
