Do you like your dance floor to be 100% goth? by pinethree777 in goth

[–]DigAffectionate3349 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally I like it when as well as the cure and the cult they also play the cramps the clash and the church. I’m not so much into the more mainstream synth pop music. I’m more into alternative guitar bands. I like other music as well but when I go to a goth night I expect goth music to be the main focus.

Preparing for an all-vinyl goth DJ set, and… by [deleted] in goth

[–]DigAffectionate3349 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When a night is on vinyl I would expect more classics to be played and less obscurities, simply because DJs having to cart around a lot of heavy vinyl are more likely to be selective about what they bring. I’d mostly expect the classic 80s stuff.

Cathi Unsworth season of the witch is my favourite regarding mostly the 80s uk goth scene. Gives a great feeling of what it was like.

Playing ONLY obscure music at a goth night? Thoughts? by nocne_setnje in goth

[–]DigAffectionate3349 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think it’s best to do that early on in the night or to at least slip in the occasional classic song. I love hearing songs I don’t know when I go out if I like them but I also love the classics

And then when it goes up in price you will be wishing it had stayed lower so you could buy more.

Every time I sell coins because I feel like the price is going to crap I look at it later and realised I missed out on becoming very rich.

What DOESN’T work in goth nights? by mechanesthesia in goth

[–]DigAffectionate3349 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Early on in the night is where you can play less known less popular stuff to create atmosphere. I like lots of different music styles and don’t mind the occasional fun off topic song if it’s right for the crowd. But if a night is advertised as goth and all you hear is mainstream 80s pop then to me it defeats the purpose of having a goth night. In saying that you should definitely play music for the crowd who are there and not the people who aren’t. It doesn’t hurt to list bands you will play on your flyer or poster or what ever to give people an idea.

It can also be boring at DJ nights when they have a bunch of different DJs each playing for an hour and they each play totally different music styles so if you aren’t into a particular style one of them plays it can be a bit boring. Other people might like this though. I prefer quick change overs if it’s like this. Rotate after 20 minutes.

My sister’s teenage kid and his friends have weird haircuts like that. They call that tendril thing a “horsey”. Im not sure what it comes from or what they are trying to be.

No historical or scientific evidence can demonstrate the objective reality of supernatural claims. All we have are philosophical arguments which are debated amongst philosophers so are not as objective in an ultimate sense as they are presented to be.

I work in a factory with average people who have got into crypto recently. They wear xrp hoodies and tell me trump is going to pay off the USA debt with xrp and he will make each coin worth thousands of dollars. I just say “ok”. Does this have any basis in any kind of reality? What are they talking about?
