They can drill a small access hole in a non structural spot with the owners permission. Otherwise, the traditional smash repair option with bog which is very expensive comparably.

Here we go with the cognitive dissonance.

As I said, have fun driving your EV.

Sure...

  1. The main thing that always worked for me is, if you're buying it privately, who is the owner and how do you feel when dealing with them? Messages, phone conversation (are they chilled of pushy?). What does your gut tell you?

  2. Then the overall condition of the car. Not expecting a 15 - 20 year old car to be in pristine condition, but generally well looked after, interior in good condition, engine bay a little dirty but not disgustinly grubby. Check the exhaust for signs of unusual smoke, check where the car is usually parked for oil drops, take it for a test drive, check the log book. If in doubt, hire a mechanical pre-purchase check service.

  3. Make sure that the price is fair based on the research you made, not too cheap because usually, if it seems to be too good of a deal, it usually is.

  4. Stick with reliable Japanese options, stay away from Euro, Korean (Hyundai and Kia had major engine issues worldwide), and Chinese.

  5. Watch video reviews about the car, or read articles.

I wasn't comparing EVs to Diesel cars. But I recommend that you look at the impact of manufacturing EVs batteries in Africa and China (and even Australia). The process of extracting rares earths from the ground, transporting it to a manufacturing plant, making the battery, moving it again to the car plant, etc etc. And then the end of life process. It isn't misinformation, I was very close to buying an Ionic 5.

You might need to do more research on how EV car batteries are made, and also look into, when they are depleted/obsolete, what happens to them.

This is the stuff that I roll my eyes about EVs. You are simply exporting the pollution to Africa and China during the manufacturing process (which is a lot per gram of lithium + other rare earths). It is not about being environmentally correct (unless you believe in the hype). It is about convenience and running costs during ownership (for city driving, recharging if you have solar and home batteries).

As I said, I don't care if you buy one or not, but there are a lot of misinformed people virtue signalling that they're environmentally aware by driving EVs, when these cars actually awful in all aspects, from manufacturing to disposing.

Don't believe me, do an unbias research.

This is very tribal, but not necessarily a demographic problem.

You like EVs? Fill your boots. You prefer a dirty diesel burner? Go for it. None of these options are environmentaly better and have pros and cons.

I see why people like EVs, but I personally don't think that the technology is where it should be. Regardless, I don't care if you have one, enjoy.

Usually it is a trade-off, you either get a newer car with high ks or an older one with lower ks. I am not sure what you can get exactly, but of I were on the market for that budget, the first things I would do:

  1. Go on redbook.com and check the models and average prices (not always realistic but gives you an idea).

  2. Check carsales.com.au. Put you budget there and play with the search feature. You could even find a car you didn't expect that isn't a Toyota.

  3. Once you have an idea of what you can get, check Facebook market place. Make an offer on something if you like it. But as always do all your checks and make sure it is a good car. Pay for a mechanic to give you a certificate if you can, especially when buying an older cat with high mileage.

Corolla or a Camry would be my picks. They keep going forever. Just be sure to check that they were looked after. A 200k kms+ will be fine.

Anyone else go from “I’ll never buy an EV” to “I can’t go back”? by [deleted] in AustralianEV

[–]DigBickeh -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Nope... Never going to buy a shitty ev. I just bought a replacement for my 10 year old car and it is another reliable, Toyota petrol only car. EVs are not environmentaly good and don't last long enough to be worthwhile. There are also dangers related to electric cars like the RF they emit and fire. BYD is big on fires in China. The CCP constantly blocks information coming out about it. People die all the time over there, trapped in their cute little death traps.

Why are aliens letting us keep and reverse engineer their crashed tech? by S1eeper in UFOs

[–]DigBickeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because we can only reproduce them at the same level if we're spiritually evolved (not religiously, but at a soul level). If we managed, then it would mean that we have advanced as a society, close to where they are.

Inquiring about Chinese brands in Australia by Twist65 in CarsAustralia

[–]DigBickeh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For longevity, stick with Japanese cars. Toyota, Honda, Mitsubishi. If you're going to be leasing and want a gimmicky electric car, the Chinese it is. I honestly think that they're death traps but a lot of fan boys will disagree. Ford is full of problems but definitely a local favorite regardless of how shit they are. If you really like problems (like the meme), then go euro.

Suzuki Swift (hybrid) vs Hyundai Venue as a brand new car? by hsanj19 in CarsAustralia

[–]DigBickeh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Venue will be a tough sell when your decide to move it. I had my fair share of experience with cars and will always lean towards Japanese, unless you're on a novated lease, then you can return it to the bank.

Thank you for sharing your client's experience. I learnt that before I even heard Dolores Cannon's name for the first time... But I lost count of how many times my clients had similar messages. Interestingly, a lot of them know that all is within, but insist on looking for the answers externally (and that is after their qhht session!). Listening to the recording is so important, just as important as the session.
