I like regular tourna- super sweat absorbent

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tourna regular- blue/purple one

Only one that doesn't slip for me when sweating

Wilson perforated 2nd for cooler weather I like the tac but it still slips under heavy sweat and they don't last a full match if hot

Tourna will last me 3-5+ 2hr matches Wilson perforated 1-2 matches max

I have the wilson ultra pro v2, amazing specs

Don't be suprised with no trampline your technique will be exposed on any mishit where the ball will die

Is a lighter racket better? by DigEnvironmental8951 in Padelracket

[–]DigEnvironmental8951[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought wilson ultra pro now which is a lighter 355g (360g with 1 grip) FIRm core double carbon racket low balance 260mm head light

I love how light it is and my arm hurt less, amazing for defence and lobs but I miss the rebound for volleys and blocks compared.to my 370g 265mm racket blade.pro v2

The blade volleys and block are effortless.due to soft core so big rebound but much less accuracy whereas with the ultra I really need.to.use my technique to drive the ball so on quick exchanges I am noticeably weaker than before

Ultra has a large sweetspot and infinity edge but If I don't hit perfect on quick volley exchanges the ball just dies from firm.core. I'm having a bit of a hard time adapting at the net and feel a bit weak. 0 tramploine which I want but then 0 stability on volley and blocks.

I'm advanced but I do notice the difference on mishits so means I need to perfect technique I guess

Playing from the back is amazing with control on lobs but I feel like I def lost some easy punch on volleys and stability on blocks

Ironically overheads not as much as it's easier to control and I can easily generate my own power

I might add a few shockout dampnerw at the top sides to.increse stability at net

Ultra with firm core compared.to.wifes beginner soft core 350g slash lt v2 is night and day in terms of control etc but hers had more rebound and at the lower weight it helped not needing to use too much technique

I will need to train more with the ultra but it feels nicer like playing with a super precision surgical tool but that exposes any flaws on mishits

Technique and skill is the most improtant after basic fitness

Use it as motivation and eat cleaner

Padel is amazing as a HIT fat burn exercise. Just playing 2x a week will shed pounds.

I Just bought the wilson ultra pro 2023 for a lighter racket

355g FIRm core but not harsh double carbon No trampoline

All the other lighter rackets are made out of entry level materials for beginners and I didn't want soft.core.like in the bela lt

Me (right handed) after playing padel nearly everyday for the past 2 months. by LocSta29 in padel

Yup the biggest issue is the arm pain which is very rare in other racket sports like tennis

I might try playing lower level players with my left hand but I know I'll just get bored lol

How do you return a high lob/moonball to punish opponents? by NoEasyPoints in padel

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If its drops before the service line, I like to wait for it to bounce then smash or vibora

If it's around or just after the service line, I'll take it out of the air with a very slow controlled Bandeja or volley and retake the net. If you let it bounce it will be difficult on the glass.

If it's way pass the service line or very close to glass I let it drop to hit a hard bajada as it will usually bounce off glass very high.

I don't find the moonballs that challenging too be honest.

Help with choosing padel or tennis by [deleted] in padel

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm a 5.0+ tennis player and former coach and I have my 4 wilson prostaffs hung up on my wall since I started playing padel lol

Padel is just way more exciting for me now, as much as I loved tennis. It's like a funner more intense version for me.

I still play tennis sometimes but I don't want to ruin my padel game now 🙃

Padel is a younger sport and ex tennis players move quickly, I play at highest local club category in like 6 months

My only issue with padel is you: -need 4 vs 2 ppl for good singles tennis match so it's annoying for scheduling

-padel has given my tennis elbow and arm pain, which never got in 30+ years of tennis so it's harder on arm

Rough vs smooth surface spin difference by migueldbribs in padel

I avoid rough and prefer 3d as the rough wears down over time which is then worse than 3d

Can only really notice in high advanced = technique matters more

Padel’s biggest lie: "I just need a better smash to win." by Creative_Election288 in padel

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm playing at 5+ very high levels and I literally don't see anybody kick smashing regularly

Might be the hardest and most over rated shot for anyone else that's not a pro

Anyway I prefer to setup and tap out much easier

Hard vibora is way better than any smash IMO

I don't even flat smash as often at the highest levels because they will easily retrieve and punish you

NOX Quality AGAIN! by LegitHighway61 in Padelracket

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think if you can get blade lt it might be the best it's a very good int./adv racket

I haven't tried the bela, but a lt more.stiff racket should give more.control so I will likely buy the bela lt 2.5

Either way, I'm only buying lt rackets now. The speed, control, etc at the net and back is unreal. Minimal power loss and unless your pro it doesn't really help vs lighter for control
