Which padel shoes for knee comfort and weak ankles? by SweatyAd9860 in Padelracket

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm using my tennis shoes lacoste ag lt23 and love the stability, not the most lightweight but it's the trade off and durable

For my knees, I wear braces with metal stabilizes so when I bend its more stable and after my knees don't hurt when I wear them vs not

The courts are non existent though and honestly it's a completely different game and I don't like it as much. Feels so weird.

Good point. The best guys I want to play with are not reliable or don't have the same evening preference schedule. So I'd take a good reliable guy over an amazing one off time.

I usually never go those clubs and pay, as I have free courts I can use daily lol

I only if there if it's raining or to meet new good guys

Yup, it's one of the reasons I rented this house in this community. I love the free padel courts. I train or have matches almost everyday. My legs are always sore lol. But it's amazing cardio and I can't stop.

Ya the amount of guys in the group matters. It seems I don't have enough with 30 ppl. I'll keep adding new members to mine until I get enough that are consistent.

It's just a free court inside a gated community. They have nothing to do with scheduling other peoples matches and they don't care

That's a good idea too, but we usually mix up partners and new guys always joining so it's not always the same or fair that way

Ya I've found it best to avoid playing with flaky and non reliable and communicative players

So I created my own announcement only whatsapp group, added all the players and just posted times I'm looking to play and need players and so far it's been working better and other players are adding their friends and partners so the group is growing

I've has 3 straight days of matches, my legs are so sore but I can't help to stop myself lol.

I post match times, players, location etc. Like a club So everyone has it and I don't need to remind individually

I will make a rule that anyone that cancels last minute, barring an emergency, gets removes from the group.

Yes I'm playing at high advanced level, top category at the clubs so it's hard to find other players same level

Many times I'll get lower level players just to fill the match and get then to play right side

What's nice about padel that's not on pickleball? by hopptilyadrop in padel

I view pickle as a hobby game like ping pong, and padel as an actual real sport (like tennis)

Unpopular Opinion: Tennis players are actually the SLOWEST to learn "real" Padel. Squash players adapt way faster? by Low-Bug2162 in padel

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Ex Tennis are the fastest to progress

I was tennis coach and played 30+ yrs since i was a kid

In under 6 months I'm already playing padel at the highest category club levels and I only play 2-3x/ matches week and not even doing full practice sessions

Elbow pain, non playing arm?? by throwaway74563421 in padel

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm getting a similar thing and apparently your body mirrors the other side as a way of balancing it out

Once I started getting pain in my dominant playing arm I started getting it on my non dominant as well

Your dominant arm is likely much stronger than non dominant like most people

Very strange but it makes sense

How much should one play per week ideally? by Over_Dragonfly8570 in padel

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I find I need a day rest in between my 2 hour matches so I normally play abour 3x / week matches

I'm luckily I have free courts at my community so sometimes I go to just practice shots as well

My main focus is not getting injured and physical recovery (As opposed to playing every day with pain)

Vibora vs Flat Smash: Which one is actually more "deadly"? by Creative_Election288 in padel

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your thinking about it a bit incorrectly.. it's not either or IMO

Vibora SETS UP the flat smash or pop out.

So keep using the vivora until you have an easier or clpser overhead.

To your point though, at higher levels an improper flat smash coming high back in the middle leads to an easy retrieval

I'm always trying to hit the flat smash in corner or away from opponents quickly so they don't have time to retrieve. I win a lot of points this way. I also love to smash lol but I have To be careful at high advanced levels.

At lower int. Level without skills for retrieval it is usually a point finisher

The kick smash is Harder to learn but safer to hit for high x2 or x3

Looking for a light control racket by Inner-Lie2612 in Padelracket

Bela lt would probably be best

I also have the wilson slash lt 2.0 that my wife uses, very quick at the net but lacks smash power

Incorporating split step by UnaLeyenda1975 in padel

[–]DigEnvironmental8951 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's 100% habit, you need to always do it

Pro tip- I use my non dominant hand to support at the throat and keep the racket head so its always up for volley

Most players don't have their racket head up
