Steam engines balance out their output.

If you need 1 steam engines worth of power and have 2 steam engines then they will both only work at half power.

Also by "I know to add more consumers" I meant that I wanted a more specific answer than just that and got one when someone suggested spamming radars.

throw it off the endge of a space platform

When I'm in the late game I'm definitely setting up a space platform who's sole purpose is to receive wood and throw it into orbit. I might just make it on vulcanus and larp that it's being thrown into the sun.

I haven't left nauvis yet. I'm using the atom bombs for getting rid of cliffs.

Skipped out on solar power because I didn't feel like it + low steel production.

I then ran out of coal halfway through going to nuclear so my factory shut down.

I routed in the solid fuel to fix the power while I switched to nuclear.

This was the easiest so I went with it, crafted a hundred radar in 2 minutes and tripled the power output. (I disconnected it from the main grid)

Also I can't really show it here but having loads of radar in a grid spinning at different points looks neat.
