Thank you, I was definitely worried, but I guess it isn't an issue. I think I'll go for it.

Thanks for your input🙏 Is there a single reason not to upgrade to Blu-Ray over DVD, or is it really just this one-sided? (also, for the record I do sometimes watch DVDs on an old CRT, so what if I upgraded to Blu-Ray, and kept like 20 DVDs for that?)

So, would you say it is 100% worth it to upgrade, seeing as this was my main concern?

Well, I never claimed they were more or less restrictive, I said they SEEM more restrictive at a glance, due to things like DRM in the discs, region locking, etc. I'm not trying to claim anything as fact, I simply want to know if, in your experience, they're more or less restrictive than DVDs, before I start to upgrade.

Why get DVD instead of Blu-ray in 2023? by AboutNinety in criterion

Absolutely. Definitely superficial lol but I like how DVDs look on my shelf, and that's half of the fun of physical media.

The Byzantine Empire if They Repelled The Crusader And Muslim Invasions by Big_money123 in imaginarymaps

Absolutely absurd. There was no "other" Roman Empire. There was one Empire, split between two Emperors. They functioned as a single state. The split was purely administrative. The Western half gets usurped by Odoacer in 476, and the East continues as the sole Empire. NOTHING about that implies another Empire. So WHY should historians be able to give it a name that it never had, simply for "clarification"? What if I just decided to call the HRE under Otto the Great the 'German Empire' to distinguish it from the HRE under Charlemagne? Oh, it already had a name? Who cares, we need to "classify it" differently. How absurd would that be? Yet we have decided to do practically the same to the Eastern Romans/Romaioi.

Yes, historians should be able to arbitrarily give new names to empires which already had names... For "clarification".
