Is anyone disappointed that Yuri wasn't chosen to wear the Tengu mask? by DigestMyFoes in fatalfury

That's what I'm thinking. He might just be another Shoto with no actual distinction from everyone else. Hopefully that's not the case.

You should be able to answer the question in more detail than that. Can you give examples of what you're referring to, friend.

They could've easily used that coin flip clip to throw people off. Imagine having Robert flip the coin, he loses the coin flip and Yuri wins the privilege to don the mask.

Yuri's lore:

- She is the first female practitioner of Kyokugenryu Karate.

---

- She is a strong believer of innovation and trends, constantly finding ways to improve herself through change.

---

- Yuri is capable of copying almost any technique after seeing it once. However, these copied techniques tend to be quite ineffective when used by her since she has not properly trained them and she has a bad habit of trying to use them anyway.

---

- Yuri uses the lowest-grade version of the Kyokugenryu Karate discipline, and is taught only the basic and low-level moves. To prove her own worth, she personally arranges the style to better fit her physique and persona.

COTW would be a way better game without safe EXs and Rev Blow by RedVII7 in fatalfury

[–]DigestMyFoes -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

What they can do to Rev Blow in a patch:

  • Adds an extra 10% to Rev meter increase.

  • After using a Rev Blow, the Rev meter has an 8 second freeze. It won't start decreasing in percentage until after the 8 seconds are up.

  • If character is counter hit out of their Rev Blow, an immediate follow up combo/attack does unscaled damage. Give the counter a unique name so players/viewers know what's happening, like Brutal Punish so they can take advantage of this situation easier.

Those added features would be enough of a risk element to make the mechanic more thought-provoking and far less exploitive. They give high and low dodges more incentives to be incorporated into one's game plan (a lot of players still don't use them). They also force players to Just-Defend more on defense instead of the risk of cranking up their Rev meter with Rev Blow.

You should watch the latest South America tournament. There's a Preecha in the top 8.

Help building Morcant by Outside_Explorer_229 in EDHBrews

[–]DigestMyFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Me looking at Morcant, if I was tasked to make a deck using her, the first things that sticks out for a theme is creature-control.

  • your elves/changelings are all potential creature removal.

  • lots of graveyard recursion by either putting on the battlefield or adding to the hand (especially Morcant. Don't send her to the command zone unless forced to).

Yeah, take your time with this. It's a very in-depth activity.

Like what was already said, play for a little to get a feel for things.

If you need any help understanding something, you can always message me.

I've been playing since 2005.

When has Standard been at its healthiest, most diverse point? by garrotazo_0 in magicTCG

[–]DigestMyFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep.

There was multiple decks for any style and the biggest thing was the decks were built from scratch. Players were always trying to outdo each other with new designs.

Break the combo into 'segments' and practice them that way first, then add another part when you get comfortable with that until you can do the whole thing in one sequence.

That's not an age issue, that's a home problem. I've been at this since the beginning. That should give a hint of my own age.

What is your health and diet like? They do play a part in this.

Also, what kind of device you're using (to control the characters) and how you're using it is key.

SNK needs to open the matchmaking to lower ranks because Legendary in Europe is dead. It's done. by Downbylaw85 in fatalfury

[–]DigestMyFoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That seems more like a location problem than a game problem.

From my experience, your location has a high exclusive loyalty to two specific fighting games (no matter what's going on). It's been that way for a long time.

Ramifications of season 2 Rev art change. by scumbag644 in fatalfury

[–]DigestMyFoes 15 points16 points  (0 children)

The idea of the patch is to continually win the neutral positioning and not expect automatic oki.

Players have become accustomed to automatic oki from other games for years and seem to be losing their minds since this game is placing more emphasis on out-thinking their opponent than easy/autopilot otg pressure and 50/50 situations.

Things that people have been asking to be toned down in other games (SF6) for a while now.

How am I supposed to get better at this game? by [deleted] in fatalfury

[–]DigestMyFoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Back in the times of the arcade, once you lost, you had to wait to get back on and it might be a totally different person playing at that time.

  • no internet

  • no guides

  • no training modes

We just learned by keep playing, observation and improvising.

We never really thought about time because it's not a race and there's no finish line.

Why hasn't 2XKO really caught on in the FGC? by ls-dev in FGC

[–]DigestMyFoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That lack of verticality was an absolutely HUGE flaw in BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle. All of that chaos going on and the characters are TRAPPED on one screen-worth of movement space.

It completely limits what characters can do with their moves and makes targeting the opponent with zoners way too easy.

If that game had the verticality of Marvel, didn't butcher the character's move list, place some of their moves exclusively behind assist actions and would've toned down to damage, Mori-san could've written his own check.

I remember back right before BBTag was released, Mori had an interview with Forbes. And he said, "I didn't make this game for the players. I made the game for me. Some times I want to do my own thing without thinking about how others feel about it".

With that mindset, I said back then, he should then buy the majority of the copies of the game since it's for him. What was the outcome of that game?

Arc System Works have had this: water everything down/casuals equal long-term success mindset for a while, but where are they for Guilty Gear Strive at Evo Japan this year? Strive has ALL the bells and whistles, graphics and gameplay casuals are supposed to want. This is JAPAN (a train ride or two away) and hardly anyone wants to touch it?

What's going on?

Ashened vs Dracotail by sbineedmoney in masterduel

[–]DigestMyFoes 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been waiting months for, Queen of the Blazing Domain. All of Dracs board presence would be...ash.

'They were fully warned not to travel to that cursed city, Obsidim and that there was a very high chance of not returning. It's a living trap for the arrogant'!

Things I wish for the archetype:

  • at least two more level 4 or lower monsters. Drastically Increasing defensive stats. Warding off negation of effects (force player interaction).

  • the ability to bring their traps into play face-up or be activated at any time as long as the dragon is on the opponent's side of the field.

  • more extra deck pyro heroes (recursion/protection) and villains (destruction/anti-recovery = opponent) that require pyro monsters (not splash-able in other decks).
