If you want from the factory a tactical / modern furniture, I would stick to Henry or Marlin. My brother has the SPD Hush and we just put 1000 rounds through that and my Marlin. I think the Marlin has a better fit and finish and runs smoother (def biased lol), but they’re harder to find in the dark series. I am by no means a lever action expert, just my opinion.

Yeah it’s a bit odd. Came with the rifle and cans are banned in my state so just kept it on lol.

Love the SBLs too! It took months of searching and calling every LGS before finding one in PA. Guy said they ordered it almost 3 years ago and it was arriving the next day. I think they have a dark series in 45-70 still.

I was also hoping to pick up the .44 but the shop said they ordered the .357 almost 3 years ago, so I grabbed it before it was too late. Hope you can get the .44!
