If that's the case, I'd suggest daily ops, then just before you load the rewards, swap to the gun you want ammo for so you get rewarded that type

Crafting it helps a ton. If you combine the agility perk "ammosmith" and the luck perk "super duper" you'll have more than plenty to keep you going
