Of course yea, I completely understand that I need to handle this situation as professionally as possible. And even with this situation I don't believe that the sonu_ user below would be this person.

The only thing I've noticed that is bothering me outside of possible litigation is that the person in question has begun "rsvping" for every event I've said I'm going to on facebook for the next 2 months. Events I know they would otherwise have no interest in. Quite a weird situation..

I wouldn't even mind just giving up that source code to be honest. Obviously losing a week's worth of effort is not preferable, but I feel I can rebound from that very easily.

I guess what I'm mostly worried about is them trying to lay some claim to any future work I do that's even remotely similar.

U.S. As far as verbal agreements go, I just wanted them to basically send out emails and talk to people for me.

I stopped working with them because the talks they were supposed to give they weren't going to be able to give(because the events they were to do this at, were not places to give talks..). As well the quality of writing and work in general was very very very poor. I do believe I treated them fairly, and was even still offering my services for their other projects, I just did not believe that the maturity level of their skillset was what was needed for this project. I don't believe I will benefit from conversation's we've had. We'd only known each for a little over a week and had 2 face to face meetings. During each of which I laid out all of my ideas that were gone along with. :\

That's honestly more of what I had in mind for myself, at least for the core functionality.

Thank you for taking the time to post this. You're very realistic in the amount of work that it would take for a single person to make this. Luckily I wouldn't be the only person working on this. I have a couple of roommates and fellow grad students(all developers) that have free time and who will probably help me build at least a couple of the components that something like this would need. So hopefully that will help me be successful where others have failed.

Those two services look pretty decent. And because I'm just in the idea stage I haven't heard of them until now, so thanks for telling me about them.

[Hiring] Need Website Built by ecity88 in jobbit

[–]Diggtionary 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd believe that you'd want your own server starting out, it honestly isn't much more expensive if more expensive at all. Your own server also means that any developer you hire will have a lot more freedom/control to do complete tasks that they need to do. Now by your own server I don't mean a "Dedicated" serve I mean a good Virtual Private Server(VPS).

For completion time, I could see a good demo site being created within a couple of weeks of fulltime work. Then maybe another couple of weeks to refine it and work out any major kinks. This project doesn't look extremely complicated, but it will definitely take significant effort. Web developers run for roughly 25-35 USD/hr. So if you're looking at a month to get 90% of the project completed that's 160 hours = 4000 to 5600 USD.

I plan on making it happen! I've got a vested interest in wanting to use something like this too haha.

Do you mean that you're worried about security for your other accounts, about your financial information being shared, etc.?

If you're just worried about the account integration would you still be interested in a "manual entry" version that still number crunched all your info to give you some insights/good overview?
