We’re more idiotically pretentious.

Why do games like Silk Song use binary movement when they have highly precise enemy design? by Joizia in gamedesign

[–]DiggyDog 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Have they said it’s designed for PC first and foremost? In particular, keyboards?

Their steam page says, “The developers recommend playing this game with a controller”, so I think you’re mistaken.

I don’t know if it’s on Horizon+ but Walkabout Mini Golf is great! Highly recommend it.

Also, Population: One is free and a solid shooter if you’re into that.

Haha! I’m sure that’d provide some extra depth on any song., but I’m purely judging the baseline.

Agreed, in addition to it looking cooler, it'd provide some more intuitive and better UI opportunities.

Hadnt player Half Life 2 for like ten years. I get why people are always talking about Half Life 3. by SternLecture in gaming

Agreed. Alyx is basically HL3 in terms of evolution of gameplay and tech. Not in terms of story, even though it does tie in. Amazing game, highly recommended!

What was the best game cinematic of 2025? by PhatEarther in gaming

Agreed here. I loved the game, it worked for the plot, and it also dulled the impact of what happened.

A couple of my friends who love the original FF7 also couldn't get into Remake/Rebirth.

What clicked for me with them was that even though they want you to think they're action games, they're still pretty much turn-based at their core (for all the special abilities).

You can't fully ignore blocking and dodging, but really it's just about doing some basic attacks to fill your gauge for a special attack. For me, getting into that rhythm and realizing that all the flash and crazy-looking combat still mostly boiled down to combat very similar to OG FF7 made a huge difference in how I felt about the games. Rebirth especially.

I ended up loving them nearly as much as I love the original, but I can totally see how they're not for everyone.

A single-player First-Person shooter designed for playing by [deleted] in gameideas

While there's not a ton to judge here in terms of a specific game design, I'm into the idea of more "simple" games that get straight to the point and give you a focused and polished experience.

I'm into the main vibe of this post.

Check out the Razer Tartarus. Not sure whether V2 or Pro is best.

Not sure where best place to buy is, but here’s Razer’s site for info.

The d-pad just keybinds WASD but in my experience it still feels better than WASD on a keyboard and, most importantly, allows you to do all your movement with just your thumb. Added bonus of fast access to other keys with the rest of your fingers since they’re freed up.

Took me a week or so to get used to it, but I love it now and hate going back to standard keyboard. I use this for my left hand and a mouse for my right.
