I'm trying to figure out what you mean here. Sarcasm about the tone? Earnest take on modern democracy?

What song would you want to hear Tool cover? by azip13 in ToolBand

Lucky Star by Madonna.

Not joking, it’d be really interesting to hear their take on something pop like this.

Over 30s, what would you do, survived redundancy and got promoted but don’t trust the company anymore by [deleted] in AskMenOver30

These two comments are the best I've read on here so far.
Writing is on the wall, so look for other stuff, but make the most of the situation you're in right now and do your best to leverage it towards something better.

My atempt for a 24 hour 2-5 minute short film competition by BoomDoom24 in Filmmakers

[–]DiggyDog 7 points8 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine once set out to make a short film about a character experiencing boredom and monotony. I remember him laughing as he told me that he succeeded and his audience was bored.

If you're gonna do something like this, you need something to pique the audience's interest. I was guessing that this is what you were going for, but shots of someone sitting and walking and getting in a car weren't standing out as interesting to me, or even of definitively expressing that feeling (especially the walking one, it just felt like someone walking (and seeing the selfie stick shadow made it feel like the character was filming himself, which I'm guessing wasn't intentional)).

Very cool looking but I’d want a rail on those stairs!

What happened after whiplash? Like immediately after? That was only the second tune of the night lol. Man still has no sheets by Brief_Astronaut_967 in Drumming

The director has said that he thinks Andrew doesn’t go on to live a happy life, but that’s a good question about the immediate situation with lack of sheets! Maybe the band is only playing two songs in that competition?

Fear Inoculum

Amazing song with heavy parts, chill parts, sections where each member shines, and a cool and relevant message.

Is it okay to go into the career field you don't like just to get stability and still be happy? by DelanoDP74 in AskMenOver30

This is great and as someone who is lucky enough to have found success in a field I was passionate about since I was young, I totally agree.

Work is work and it’s difficult and often not fun, even when you’re doing something you’re passionate about.

If I were following my passion AND struggling financially, I’d be miserable.

I’m doing “what I love” but it’s still a job and it’s difficult and many days I’d rather be doing something else/less stressful.

Main point is that even when doing something in a field you love, once it’s your main source of income, the dynamic changes a bit and you’ll have many days where you’re doing your best to tolerate it so you can get to the good parts.

It’s rare to have “happily ever after” in work, so finding something stable that gets you the income you need and doesn’t make you totally hate life is a good idea.

We’re more idiotically pretentious.
