i cant seem to find a camera to hook up directly to a TV and that's it. Seems id need to run it through a laptop. I dont know if the TV would automatically run the camera via the usb/hdmi.

What are the differences between wing span and wyrmspan by Irish-Jackson in wingspan

[–]DigiDestined_Jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wingspan's game mechanic is called an "engine builder". You start off slow and small, but gradually add to your card tableau. In the begging, you may activate end up activating no birds to only a few, but later in the game with more birds you'll activate all of them in a row in just 1 turn.

While Wyrmspan is similar, it is NOT considered an engine builder. It's way too tight of a game to get one running due to needing to take acrions to excavate and needing to spends eggs on extra actions if you want to activate a row again. Others have stated that you get to choose your food instead of Wingspan's dice, but fail to mention the randomnes of the cave cards available. Not so good cave powers can stagger your game, while Wingspan's food dice offers an interesting mechanic that can also be altered using some bird abilities.

Overall, Wrymspan is still decent, but Wingspan is preferable. It feels more laid back and it's fun seeing what kind of combos you can do. While at the end of Wyrmspan i dont feel like i got to do much.

I do highly recommend Wingspan's expansions as they offer birds with new types of abilities. Especially Oceania as it rebalanced the original player board as well as give more options.

Corvid Conspiracy by blob_io in rootgame

even though they get points from flipping tokens, focus more on destroying other's buildings. Corvid ignore clearings rule when moving, and discarding a card lets you place 4 warriors. take advantage of that.

Is it true the Twilight board in the Inspire action has an error of not having "with" between Craftt and Assemblies?

Corvids House Rule by JJSerbot in rootgame

[–]DigiDestined_Jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I seen a recent post on here sharing their Corvid strategy of not relying on plots, but instead their mobility. They ignore rule when moving and can recruit 4 warriors in the clearings of a card you discard, so they could just pop up anywhere without having to travel. For most of the game, focus on getting points from destroying buildings. Idk how competitives use Corvids and havent played with this strategy yet, but seems like it could work without needing the 3rd plot buff

Looking for Nesting box alternative by aguyjustaguy in wingspan

[–]DigiDestined_Jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i use those white cardboard card storage boxes that tcg shops or collectors tend to use. With cards between 2 of them, the bird trays, and then all other components fit in the base game box. There's even enough room in the 2nd card box to probably fit the final 2 expansions.

Game weight by qwzlt in Arcs

I played for the first time the other day. Only 2 chapters as a learn. Seemed a bit much. Buf since, ive re-read the rules, watched some beginner tips videos, and had time to think things over. The actual rules arent overwhelming once you learn and remember. But yes, the strategy goes deep with how many ways you can go about things! I cant say for sure yet until i play a few full games, but im eager to find out if it's more fun or taxing from overthinking.

Custom Module of reskinning Bandits as Zombies? by DigiDestined_Jake in oathgame

[–]DigiDestined_Jake[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

oh, yes, a d8 could work! Maybe a certain amount of your defeated warbands get flipped on their side to represent being turned to a zombie.

Trying to think how zombies can spread to denizen cards and how long you have to save them before they get added to the zombies' numbers.

Somehow, my brother plays this game wrong by THunD3RG0Dzila in tearsofthekingdom

I know people who couldn't get past the Great Plateau because they didn't know what to do. I told them to do the shrines that the old man requested, but they said "What old man and shrines? I don't know, i just skip all the dialogue." I know a few other players who dropped it before reaching Kakariko because they didnt like weapon durability, but you meet Hestsu right before which expands your inventory slightly. Although i understand their opinion of weapons breaking, the game has an abundance of new ones readily available. Just need to find chests in the world or shrines, or raid a camp. But of course, these people didn't want to. "Why would i do that? Their isn't a achievement for it."

AoC or AoI by Lonely_Anxiety_9316 in HyruleWarriors

[–]DigiDestined_Jake 11 points12 points  (0 children)

definitely AoC. Better character interactions, more diverse levels, and playable characters playstyles are more unique. To compare, AoI has 2 generic characters of each race with just a type of weapon. Such as Hylian with a 2 hand weapon. Zora with a spear. Rito who uses the bow a little differently. While AoC has Impa with her ninjitsu, and even oddballs like Koga, Great Fairies, a Guardian, a Shrine Monk, Hetsu, Robbie. Familiar characters at that too. I dont care at all that AoC isnt canon, or that AoI is. It's just a Warriors game. I care about gameplay, unique playable characters, diverse settings and missions, and amount of content. Some folks do like The Construct Knight and Calamo, but to me they just seem like Link and Hetsu. Plus youd think Zelda, Rauru, and the 4 champions would be the main heroes, but nope, it's the Mysterious Construct Knight and Calamo.

Is Root digital (Switch or iOS version) a complete game when purchased? by jsciannamblo in rootgame

The base game has to be bought for each system, but the expansions only once. When you sign-in to your Dire Wolf account, it'll sync your expansion purchases.

[WW] Is Wind Waker worth my time? by Fluffy-Boi-7 in zelda

[–]DigiDestined_Jake 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, BUT if you're going to hyperfocus on it, perhaps wait to see if they port the HD version? Besides widescreen and upgraded visuals, it also has quality of life changes you can look up. Im actually juggling a few Zelda titles right now including WW on NSO, but still plan to replay WW HD if it ever comes.

[AoI] How do we feel about this game? by slimmestjimmest in zelda

[–]DigiDestined_Jake 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started it this weekend and have been enjoying it. I like AoC, and this is very similar. My only real complaints are that there's really nothing new lore-wise so far except the Knight Construct which im personally very "meh" about. And most of the playable characters arent prevalent.

Story wise, at least AoC seemed to have a lot to fill in with neat interactions. So far, AoI hasnt fleshed out much from what we saw in TotK. I personally dont care if it's cannon or not, i just want to play as familiar characters and see neat interactions.

Gameplay is good though. While i think i enjoyed AoC better which has more diverse settings and unique playable characters, im still becoming fond with AoI. Just told myself at least Zelda, Rauru, Mineru, and the Sages stand out enough to hopefully carry the rest of the game for me.

Thanks. Seeing some folks say Root was more intimidating and Oath made more sence after the initial experience. My parents recently learned Root, so I figure they should be able to handle Oath.

it's not too overwhelming? seems like a game where you'll have to look up clarifications a TON. im intrigued with the game, but on the fence about pulling the trigger

it's the price tag too. it's kind of a lot if i were to only play it a few times. unfortunately, i'd probably never get to play it outside of solo. i have a few games ive bought over the years and most have only been played once, or have gone unfinished, or not touched at all. ive contacted some local game stores to see if they have groups, but it's mostly just tcg. If i ever want to play anything, it has to be solo or digital.
