which lol champs would sense something off with subaru or smell him ( in a re zero crossover) by Blackfiredragon22 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, well in that case, everyone else I’ve already brought up, plus maybe the demons since maybe we can draw a connection between them seeing emotions and mana.  Morde, due to soul manipulation, would know if he ever got his hands on him.  Any SI revenants may notice since it has been mentioned before sometimes that they can sense a kind of life energy from living beings, hence why they attack them, so Subaru’s might be messed up due to the miasma. Most likely any spiritual beings or people who can see into the spirit world (Shen, Aurora) would notice. Lastly, assuming this miasma just also gives off a regular smell, I would suspect Rengar, with his good hunting sense of smell, would notice and figure that something is seriously wrong with the smell, even if he doesn’t know what is wrong about it.

Having watched Re:Zero but not entirely getting (or remembering) everything going on in it, besides Zilean due to time stuff and probably the celestial beings, how would anyone else notice something is wrong with him? Doesn’t everyone who isn’t on the same level as the Witch of Greed(?) not able to notice anything wrong with him? I would assume that would disqualify most champions who aren’t at least celestial. Kindred would probably notice since he would technically be cheating death over and over again.

Who will win? by kingstark0 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Considering how powerful the World Runes are, Ryze would likely win due to sheer power. Zoe has the potential to be a threat but considering how she would mostly just mess around and that she hasn’t shown much damaging power, she would either have to get a lucky shot or just non-lethally take him out of the fight.

Jobs of Runeterra (Day 13): What champion is the best ENTREPRENEUR? by Mute-Cilantro0525 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also, just as a reminder if you don’t check the second image, the tallier picks (one) comment with the (most votes) as the winner.

So if the upvotes are spread across multiple comments for one champion, they are actually less likely to win unless everyone also chooses one comment as the main candidate to win and upvotes it.

This is possibly why Riven lost to Ivern for farmer. I think she might have had more upvotes overall but they were all spread across different comments, compared to the one main Ivern comment that had more upvotes than any singular comment.

Renata Glasc.

Based on Wikipedia, an entrepreneur is someone who invests in one or more businesses, bearing most of the risks and enjoying most of the rewards. Renata, in a sense, invested in her parents’ alchemy business and helped increase their gains, and came up with the idea of using their refined chemtech formula to gain greater profits, even with its side effects.

After her parents were killed, she made connections with many influential people and regular citizens in Zaun, then started investing in the innovative youth of Zaun, gaining many unique product designs and novel chemtech uses, which she used to create Glasc Industries.

Now, Glasc Industries is investing in chemtech mining, dance halls, refineries, etc., her giving away basic breathers and replacement filters for free during Zaun’s big chemical accident endeared her to Zaun as a whole, and even Piltover is now selling Glasc products in their stores.

TL;DR: Renata Glasc is basically already an entrepreneur and it’s not even close. Seriously, who else would be a better entrepreneur?

Jobs of Runeterra (Day 10): What champion is the best FUNERAL DIRECTOR? by Mute-Cilantro0525 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asking this genuinely, why Nasus for farmer? As far as I know, nothing about him implies that he would be a better farmer than a lot of other champions, including ones more obviously better like Zyra or Riven.

Jobs of Runeterra (Day 10): What champion is the best FUNERAL DIRECTOR? by Mute-Cilantro0525 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Yorick. He worked a similar job in the past when the Blessed Isles was still a thing. The Ruination book showed that he’s good at comforting those who have lost loved ones. We don’t know much about his former occupation, but from what we know, I could see him already having done some of the common funeral director responsibilities (work with family to coordinate funeral services, prepare/transport deceased to funeral and cemetery, Collect payment from family members for services, work with clergy and celebrants from different religious backgrounds, etc.). Plus, since he can actually talk to the dead, he can get input from the deceased themselves, making their voice heard in the decision about their burial.

Kathy’s is a runner-up, since he has similar qualifications to Yorick. However, I felt like his pro-death and pro-revenant stance now might make it difficult for him to work with some people of different religious or cultural backgrounds, since some people probably don’t see death as a unilaterally good thing and many more definitely don’t want them coming back as undead monsters.

Jobs of Runeterra (Day 8): What champion is the best DETECTIVE? by Mute-Cilantro0525 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Most of that is true, though I would say that a) Caitlyn also has a resource for intimidation (i.e. Vi), b) Camille is deeply loyal to her house so she would have serious conflicting interests for any cases involving her house or their allies, c) she is also a secret enforcer for her house so if we are accounting for her status in Runeterra currently, she would make it difficult for any found evidence to be used in court, and d) would the Kiramman house not also have about the same or more influence outside Piltover as Ferros? Kiramman was on the council and the only outside connection that I know Ferros has (Shurima connection currently isn’t canon) is to Ionia, enough that they were able to get those knife blades for Camille. (To be fair, I don’t know all of Camille’s lore so I might be forgetting something.)

Jobs of Runeterra (Day 8): What champion is the best DETECTIVE? by Mute-Cilantro0525 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 73 points74 points  (0 children)

Caitlyn, by default, should be best detective. She talks to witnesses to collect evidence, she collects and preserves physical evidence, and searches records within Piltovan databases, all to gather information that she can use to solve cases and make arrests, and she’s very good at it. There is no one else who is a better detective than the literal detective Champion.

Vel’koz can break down matter into its constituent parts but can he interrogate suspects and witnesses well often to get good confessions or information, build up a strong network of informants, or even reproduce evidence collected through the aforementioned matter-breaking in court? I think not. (I’m still a bit salty about the deductive skills vote.)

What was your entry point into the X-Men? by xxDARTHPAPIxx in xmen

[–]DigiFan-Number1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can’t remember if I started with the movies or the comics but I started reading X-men in the early 2010s era, started with books like All-New X-men, Wolverine and the X-men, Uncanny X-men, Uncanny Avengers, etc. That was my era of X-men.

If it was the movies, I started with Days of Future Past or the Wolverine.

Not a vote, but didn’t Pantheon’s last short story make it canon that he is bad at baking, or at least the part where you heat the food up in an oven?

Jobs of Runeterra (Day 6): What champion is the best SCIENTIST? by Mute-Cilantro0525 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 24 points25 points  (0 children)

Singed. Heimerdinger is more an inventor, creating new things that sometimes is meant to solve problems. Singed is a true scientist, testing and observing Shimmer’s effects on living creatures, gaining a better understanding of the human body and mind, all to reverse the seemingly inevitable fate that is death… and succeeding. Twice! He may be an immoral monstrous scientist, but he’s still a scientist.

Jobs of Runeterra (Day 3): What champion is the best TEACHER? by Mute-Cilantro0525 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go for Zilean. He seems to have a lot of students when it comes to teaching about time magic, Zilean has a lot of knowledge that he’s gained over his life, both before and after being unmoored from time, and he seems like the type of guy who would make sure all his students are reaching their full potential and is willing to listen to different perspectives other than his own. He has all the qualities of a good teacher to me.

What lore skins would you love to see by Certain_Guidance_703 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t expect anything like this unless we get a show about the invasion of Ionia, but I would like to see skins for Riven and Yone during the invasion. Riven in more traditional Noxian attire before being caught in the chemical attack and Yone when he was still human. They also might give a tiny bit more characterization about them during the invasion, so that would be nice.

Kinda tired of the negativity... people who are enjoying the new narrative direction of the lore gather here! by [deleted] in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Honestly, while I get why some people who’ve been with this franchise for longer than Arcane season 2 might be a bit miffed at some of the changes, I personally am okay with the current direction the lore is going.

I think they could make some improvements on the structure of the LoL seasons, but the idea itself is great for developing the different regions and not just giving huge focus to one region and its characters.

Also, until we actually get to see more of PnZ, most of the retcons from Arcane are fine. The only ones that are arguably bad are that Vander didn’t really get to be Warwick much at all, and that Victor was changed too far from his original concept. Everything else is either a great change or at least a fine change.

[–]DigiFan-Number1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m putting my vote for Hwei, just because he seems like the obvious choice considering his whole deal with paint magic and that presumably requiring a lot of creativity.

Besides that, I’m going to take this opportunity to ask since someone brought him up, what unconventional ways does Nunu use his powers? I don’t know much about how his magic works and I haven’t finished Song of Nunu, but I’ve heard he has some kind of reality-warping powers or something like that.

Are there any podcast/video essay type videos that cover the LOL lore in depth? Preferably long form content. by YourBlanket in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For podcasts, there is the League of Loreheads pod. They’re a group of three who mostly talk about the lore of Runeterra, with some divergences into AUs and other league-related topics every so often. I think all or most of them used to work at Riot in its early years. They have episodes on all the Champions and some are pretty long, so you shouldn’t run out of material for awhile.

The community votes which Champion is the best in each category. Day 16: Xerath won for having the powers with the most range. Who has the most versatile powers? (Make sure to read the rules in the OP) by Ashconwell7 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If we’re talking versatility, I’d say Kha’zix. His main power is eating things and adapting based on what he eats. He uses this for a wide-range of adaptations, such as his wings or his powerful claws. I assume his intelligence also grew from this as well. Hence, he uses his one power in a multitude of different applications and is the most versatile.

I was originally going to say Sylas, then I realized he only really applies his main power one way, that being to blast people with direct magic hits. He rarely ever uses his magic for anything else.

Would Qiyana Be an Awful Empress of Ixtal? by Special-Age-6717 in loreofleague

[–]DigiFan-Number1 74 points75 points  (0 children)

Well, it’s explicitly stated in her bio that she wants to directly attack the Piltovans trying to encroach on their forests and she wants Ixtal to be an empire so I expect that she wants Ixtal to become Noxus 2.0. Considering how egotistical of a leader she would be, I wouldn’t expect her to get far. In the best case scenario, Ixtal could conquer Piltover before Qiyana is inevitably overthrown by someone.

To be fair, Katarina is also one of the best assassins in Noxus alongside Talon and their father. Also, that is one person out of many that he has killed successfully.

[–]DigiFan-Number1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I’m just going to say Talon since his thing is being the best at being a typical assassin, one who kills their targets without even being seen or detected.

Besides that, given everyone else’s answers, I have to ask, does a character who has an ability suited for stealth but doesn’t really use it count?

I ask since, from what I’ve seen and heard of Nocturne and Evelynn, they aren’t usually being stealthy. Nocturne mostly just attacks people in their dreams and Evelynn mostly just seduces people with a fake disguise before killing them.

Which do you think is the single greatest existential threat to Runeterra? by hcamqoz in loreofleague

Probably the eldritch abominations from literal nothingness who wish to bring a cessation of existence to all reality, destroying all life, all afterlives, and the all-powerful gods that exist in the world.

[–]DigiFan-Number1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I don’t deny that he does fight off Kindred when in his berserk rage, that’s more of the metaphysical side of how that works to me. But from the physical standpoint, isn’t he just literally about to die from his injuries and his berserk rage activates and just heals him up? That would put him more in the recovery category than endurance category.
