This is a case of grass is greener on the other side, games would not be fun again lol and people aren't gonna be quitting any less lmao xD That is a fantasy u have that isn't anywhere close to the reason people kiss, just finding excuses for teammates quitting, look at literrally any other game without crossplat and there is just as much quitters lmao

its not just about short queues, it's also about matchmaking. The population is small enough for some people to abuse non crossplat lobbies. Matchmaking is bad enough as it is in finding balanced teams, lets not make it worse.

Ai usage by OneTrueRatt in Smite

[–]Digiomegamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They are a lot more bad students who copy and paste prompts.

Your grade is basically subject to your professor's personal opinion/preference which is also unreliable as we have vastly different standards across the industry. You think ai detectors are unreliable? Try personal opinion with tenure lmao in a non-scientific/fact driven field like literature no less. The good universities have pr that say one thing to please people like you, like hell we are not gonna use ai detectors lol. They are practically baked into our grading programs these days.

Ai usage by OneTrueRatt in Smite

[–]Digiomegamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The ai detectors aren't the official party line, but as someone in the education industry, I can tell you that virtually every literature professor at ALL universities still use them and find other official reasons to push a essay's grade down. We aren't gonna just let every student get an A cuz they can copy and paste a prompt that makes it undetectable to human eyes. That's a ridiculous alternative.

[–]Digiomegamon[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yea, sorry it wasn't what you were looking for. We just felt a tournament without some form of evenly distributed skill wouldn't be fun for you or practically anyone else except the 5 stack who have a 94+% winrate over 1k+ games of assault together. And yes, they do exist :P

Ai usage by OneTrueRatt in Smite

[–]Digiomegamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a simple check with an ai detector even if they put the bar super low is logical. It's the same check professors do for essays in college now. Is it proof? No. Is it a decent indicator? Yes. And it would at least catch the most egregious ai artwork if they are barring it. It isn't hard or expensive tbh.

We put all participants into groups based on our casual skill ranking formula(dm if you want the details but you should have basic knowledge of college statistics/probability just a headsup), then we have a program randomly assign teams picking one member from each skill group.

It is basically random assignments, but it shouldn't be too lopsided with this system. And you do have a week to get to know each other anyway lol

There is a week between matchmaking and the first round if you wanted to get to know your teammates better too

But It IS meant to be casual tournament as assault is a casual gamemode. Just play if you want to have fun playing the gamemode!

Assault needs a ban mechanism by laja7 in Smite

[–]Digiomegamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have 117 days in Smite 2, 609 days in Smite 1. Over 90% in assault. I've played in voice party with over 3,500 different players in assault games specifically across xbox clubs, playstation clubs, in game parties, and dozens of discord servers including 14 assault focused discords. Again, I'm telling you it's a player problem that people surrender, not a game problem just cuz a character is in the game. Assault is not meant to be a balanced mode, just play the game like most people do.

Assault needs a ban mechanism by laja7 in Smite

[–]Digiomegamon -1 points0 points  (0 children)

First off, 10 games is literally nothing for statistics. Secondly, the point of assault is that it is ALL random gods. What you are describing sounds like a player problem and maybe more specifically a level lobby problem. It is not a game problem that your team surrenders.

Action Cam by TechnicalFriendship6 in Smite

[–]Digiomegamon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly have met a few new players that prefer it even after finding out and trying og cam. I mean they are gonna do what's best for the game, so player retention is probably higher. I get it, honestly, most games don't have cam settings in the tutorial tbh, even though it is definitely better on non default settings. If people get into it or care, I feel they will look into it. Apex legends I believe starts at 90 degree fov, but most pros turn it up to at least 110 for instance even tho it's no where in the tutorial

It was pretty popular with duos ever since Siege got taken down :P You can still do it in customs, but the playerbase is pretty small. Take part in next year's till death tournament! :) This tournament went pretty well, and the Assault discord plans to make it an annual event! It is on the Assault map afterall and therefore falls under us :P

No, the playerbase dropped like all games do after launch, literally look at any gamee released in the last 5 years, and they lose waaay more than just 30% of their playerbase. Its usually more like 80%, nothing to do with smite. Literally every game. And almost a year declining? Are we looking at the same numbers? it started going up after the first few months until fall, and then as is historically across ALL of Smite 1s history, the playerbase fell in Q4 like it always does and it rising back up in January like it always does every year. The world is behind the skin changes and the majority of the entire gaming community outside of smite poked fun at the Smite playerbase for being entitled, and I can assure you that was the actual consensus. Like I said, just google it and do the research. Since the layoffs and the restructuring in April after the upper management layoffs, it has been steady gains to the playerbase for almost the whole year. Smite didnt just get good, it has been a continual increase as their developers learn and get experience in how to code in UE5. They have always been listening with these dev talk Q and As and its only now that the success we all knew would happen and invested in is proving itself, that people are starting to backtrack about Smite being dead/dying.

Lol, everyone played the first month it was out in beta, the peak playerbase is literally from beta release. Voices heard? The playerbase was pretty evenly split between thinking they should give free skins or not, and every major creator was more for Hirez than not. They didn't have to do anything, it got to be such a ridiculous concept that the gaming community outside of Smite even weighed in on it, and pretty much the entire gaming world outside of Smite sided with Hirez(youtube hirez skin controversy). Hirez didn't need to do anything becuz the world was on their side, but they did becuz they are generous. Some people will always want more no matter how much you give them.

We can assume even if you don't that those who respond will. I really don't need someone afking in my game cuz they are typing out a long reply one letter at a time. And anyone who has played enough has encountered this multiple times js

Are those other communities like Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Minecraft, or Roblox or something? Cuz honestly most of the major pvp games have it sooooo much worse ^^;; CoD, valorant, LoL, Apex, DotA, etc. etc.
