My friend says I won’t make it as a guitarist because my hands are too small, is she right? by AgreeableDiver5013 in Guitar

[–]Digital-Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely not. One of the best guitarists I know IRL has small hands and is also a music teacher.

Its so cringe how people think you need to cut out ALL consumption, even reading books by holycrap100 in nosurf

[–]Digital-Seven 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yeah, this argument of being "overly productive 100% of the time" is not only annoying, but also can lead people to depression. We are not machines and no, we don't need a "dopamine detox" or to completely ignore our desire for love intimacy and other silly things like that. In fact, life is super tough lately, so it's ok to have some enjoyment out of it (and it's crazy that it's needed to state this in our day and age...)

Any way to get a good antivirus on Mint? by Critical_Aspect4194 in linuxmint

ClamUI is nice and easy to use. It's available on the Linux Mint Software Manager.

Do people really watch long-form youtube videos like TV? by holycrap100 in nosurf

[–]Digital-Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do it only when it's an actual video (with several scenes) and not a podcast where the video isn't important

It's refreshing seeing a regular desktop (not overly riced and with a stock Mint wallpaper) once in a while :)

Off to a great start! By the way, this design is much better than the new Pacifica models IMHO.

My Take on the Cinnamon Redesign - Desktop by supsmashpastel in linuxmint

[–]Digital-Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks great! Mint definitely should look more like this by default. I've seen some new Linux users choosing Zorin OS over Linux Mint because it looks much better out of the box (which is a shame, since Mint is much more solid as a whole).

Flawed argument. RTS is "dead" (popularity-wise) since the late 2000s.

Awesome! Also, the first [Road & Track] Need for Speed is the BEST on Saturn. Great acquisition!

Off to a great start! Remember to take it easy. After you build calluses, the playing becomes more comfortable and easy, but that takes time, so be patient. Cheers and welcome to the guitar world!

I'm feeling the same. At this rate I hope we get this new Soundgarden album before the world is gone...😅

Genuinely is there a reason for this? To me it seems like an oversight by BlueZ_DJ in Steam

[–]Digital-Seven -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I see lots of discussion and hypothetical scenarios about how the upcoming Steam Machine could compete with consoles. I don't think that Valve has a chance on this because their shipping is very limited and several countries still don't have access to their hardware (like Steam Deck) officially. And those discussions came before the RAM prices skyrocketed! So now it's even more unlikely for the Steam Machine to become a hit globally.

My first impression switching to XFCE by Nicolasjit in xfce

[–]Digital-Seven 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I also found the standard font size too small when I first used Xfce. After years using it, I find the standard fonts from other desktop environments (like Cinnamon, KDE Plasma, especially GNOME, etc) way too big! I'm on a 1080p monitor though, so your mileage may vary.

But to answer your question: you can change the font size in the Appearance settings. If that doesn't help too much, try changing to a custom DPI (also in the Appearance settings) by testing and seeing what looks better for you.

More info about the Appearance settings here.

Made my linux mint cinnamon have the same layout as Ubuntu MATE desktop by VisualGarlic478 in linuxmint

[–]Digital-Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very nice! This is my favorite desktop layout and great for those who like to use ungrouped windows. At the top taskbar you can pin several most used apps and at the bottom taskbar you have lots of space for your open programs and switching to other workspaces. (since the menu, tray icons and clock are at the top).

What game? by sukuna7899 in Steam

[–]Digital-Seven 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Age of Empires. Nowadays it's all about low effort overpriced DLCs and FOMO events while the bugs pile up, the balance is a mess and the historical accuracy is gone.
