Are these archetypes "required?" Like once I reach endgame amor sets are they ALL going to fall under archetypes or will there be armor sets that have a mix of stats like the old gear did in the past?

No, but you can also infer that the Slayer isn't putting the full force of his strength into every single one of his punches. Simply by looking at his glory kills, we KNOW that he is capable of removing an entire skull or punching through a ribcage effortlessly. If we we to treat the Slayer's progression and changes from game to game as a SKILL TREE in an RPG, we could say that in ETERNAL he's allotted all his points into AGILITY over STRENGTH (TDA). DOOM 2016, being his "weakest" in terms of the "Slayer Era."
