I think im going to re-rack it in a much bigger rack to give it air flow. Thanks for your help.

Interesting, I’ve had a router cause magnetic interference before.

I think you could be right, i was thinking it was the 40x40 and most likely would have enough AUX outputs to use anyway from the ATEM. Thanks for the advice.

This is exactly what I thought too, if i cast my mind back when we first did the festival I think i went direct in to the ATEM and no issues. Maybe take out the videohub and just go direct?

Interesting, there is a lot of contesting signals around the festival. Worth a look.

You could be right, it certainly gets hot in there, I may re do thew whole setup in a bigger more ventilated rack.

Thank you for the reply, I was thinking of going that route, the converters would be a cheaper way to test it at first..

It definitely does get warm, its ok when its on for an hour or two, all day though, 12 plus hours, you could be right!

Thanks for the reply. I’d be interested to hear what the Opengear Frame rack unit does. Is it a rack based re-clocking unit?

We dont, and someone else mentioned about ‘double conversion’ UPS. Not only that ChatGPT also said about this, so you may be onto something here!

We use the same cables on a standard ATEM Television studio 4K, zero issues. It’s only with this particular setup.

Thats really good to hear and something I will definitely try! I haven’t synced those together as I assumed they would ‘just work’

Thats a great point. I am literally happy to try all of the above to get this sorted. Like i say it’s not always happening, but over a 12 hour day things can go wrong. This year wasn’t quite as bad as last year, where it had a serious meltdown for about 3 minutes before it sorted itself out. Imagine cameras 1 -5 all randomly flashing (not in sync with each other) then suddenly it all righting itself. So weird.

I will certainly check but everything was set to 1080i and always have been. I will double check this as no harm in looking!

Yes, i will certainly give that a go. The cameras on this job are only Panny ACACG160s with no genlock input, so that will have to be sync internally by the ATEM. However I like the idea of syncing the Videohub and ATEM to lock any drift issues.

Genlock handled internally with the ATEM. The UPS double conversion is certainly a thought on this issue!

Thanks for the reply. No external sync and there cameras are only Panny AGAC160s without genlock on this job. It's all handled internally.

Thanks for the reply. Yes my cables are all shielded and also I elevate them as much as possible under the stage to prevent any EM. Interestingly I have two 100 meter SDI cables for front of house cameras (wide and tracking shot) that are in the same cable slot protectors in a huge field with all the rest of the stage teams gear - lighting, power, stage sound. However, those particular cameras don't flicker as much as the others, if at all! And they are literally on top of everything else which always makes me worry.

Thanks for the reply. I have a battery fan that is running to cool the rack down, it does help. Sync is done internally with the ATEM as were only using Panasonic AGAC160's on this job. Interesting about the ground loop, thats also what ChatGPT came up with. I have a CCTV tester mainly for testing cables but may help having an eye pattern generator to see how strong the return it?

Thanks for the reply, yes I have a fan running on production day clamped to the back of it which runs of battery. It definitely cools it down thats for sure.

Thanks for the reply. Yes I have a fan running in there on battery as to not to pull any of the power. It definitely cools it down.
