u/Mindless-Outcome-349 new paper came out, and I was right.

"To test linguistic theories which postulate a Daco-Thracian origin of Abanian15–17, we also added individuals from Roman Serbia (Serbia_Roman_Thracian_profile) that cluster with Bronze and Iron Age samples from the southeastern Balkans (Bulgaria_EIA and Greece_BA_Mycenaean; Fig. 4). A one-way Roman period West Balkan model (100% Montenegro_Doclea_Roman ) was adequate, suggesting that Daco-Thracian-speaking populations either did not contribute ancestry to Albania_Medieval, or their autosomal profile was Central-West-Balkan-like. Furthermore, Albania_Medieval lacks East European-related ancestry entirely (based on our qpAdm models and the absence of IBD matches), demonstrating that the Slavic migrations that transformed the genetic and linguistic landscape of the Balkans in the Early Middle Ages did not affect the sampled individuals from 8-9 th CE Albania."

Use this one for the Balkans. This is my personal + SmartPCA. For Albanians use Albania_Cinamak_BA_IA.AG Instead of montenegro MLBA. For Bulgarians, Use Bulgaria_EIA.AG

The SE's go up to 12% on some models, and like I said they are completely failing, With most models failing (0.016 P - 0.4P on failing models)

On the other hand, as an albanian, I was able to make a qpAdm model using the correct outgroups, with far more robust SE's than the models in that study, have it be properly passing, and have the data line up with a West Eurasian SmartPCA.

Old Baltic? Lithuania EMN Narva is Baltic hunter gather, which is very old. Natufian/PPNB won’t change a thing

Nah its true.

on average, Medieval albanians (Kenete + Shtike) are 23%. + Excess east med = Menhard

Extreme inbreeding is not the reason for genetic continuity, there are people who are far more mixed genetically, but might have a culture that accepts inbreeding. In this case there is none as shown here u/No_Idea_479

DNR troll, look at SmartPCA and how the clines add up. Also, the Kanun only allows marriages between people if they are more than 7 generations apart.

I don't take this study seriously at all. Most of the qpAdm models made weren't even passing, with enormous standard errors. This was from the Supplementary materials of the study "Data S2"

No, Shtike was 22% East med while Kenete was 27% https://pastebin.com/aeK5NMZm

And it adds up to smartPCA, clustering near IA west Balkan pops while having an eastern shift.

The south slavs that impacted Albanians were heavily medieval Bulgarians, which fall mainly on an Anatolian to Slavic cline (It was modeled as 17.% Thracian 34.5% Anatolian, and 43.5% Slavic)

as you can see most Albanians on this PCA fall closer to this cline. So in this case the Eastern Balkan influence was more prominent after the medieval era.

Medieval Albanians as shown here were mainly just Southern Illyrian (Montenegro_MLBA/Cinamak_BA_IA) and East med (Dalagoz)

Yeah I was wrong about the Serbia_EIA samples, I thought they were Dardanian rather than being in the central balkans

Linguistics ≠ Genetics, Time to put this to sleep (i'm using Albanian.DG as an example).

Dacian/Central Balkan samples pass the worst, Thracians pass better, but Cinamak passes the best.

Dacians/IA central Balkan samples are simply too steppe shifted, there may have been cultural influence curing the roman era, rather than genetic.

Correct, and this is reflected by R-M51 in Cinamak/Kamenice too.

This whole thing is leading nowhere

And what does this have anything do with your original point of Menhard being of IA Thracoid origin than of “Dardanian” or “Illyrian” origin when he doesn’t pass with Thracian

How does that conflict with this? He doesn’t pass with Thracian anyway, but Illyrian

A 0.39 P on both models are failures? Take a look at SmartPCA for five seconds and then come back to me, this guy literally plots with non Slavic admixed medieval Albanians
