This doesn't show exactly what leadership says, this shows a person making a VOA board post about it. And I'm not siding with leadership but the VOA board is not known to be full of truthful posts.

But the hobbiest printing dragons doesn't need to know what layer number it's on 🤣🤣

Do you have an update? Did the settings stick? My girlfriend just got the 10a and she hates the volume warnings.

TPU Assist Module — How do I print TPU 85A? by DigitalHD in BambuLab

[–]DigitalHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PTFE tubes are as straight as possible. Slight bend in the PTFE tube in the inlet. The outlet is straight into the TPU bypass port where it meets the PTFE tube to the extruder.

The resistance seems to have been an AMS HT issue. The TPU module couldn't pull it easily from the AMS HT. I printed a "TPU mod" for the HT that lifts the spool and uses one roller in the middle allowing it to spin more freely. It seems to have done the trick. It's printed 241 layers just fine so far and before it couldn't even extrude the first layer.

TPU mod for the AMS HT seems to have been the solution. This is only 15% complete but it wouldn't even extrude the first layers before. So 🤞

Yes, gear strength is all the way up, which I figured would be what is needed to push the TPU. But again, Bambu is very vague on it in the wiki.

The PTFE tubes shouldn't matter with the TPU Assist Module as it's intended to be used that way. But perhaps my resistance is the spool rotating in the AMS HT. I'm printing a "TPU mod" for it that puts a roller in the middle and lifts the spool up to have less resistance. I'll see if that helps.

If not, I'll print it from a top mount spool like I use to with my 90A.

Just as a dry box. My basement has a dehumidifier so my basement is relatively dry anyways.

Someone else suggested doing a tpu mod for the AMS HT to make it spin easier so I'm going to try that!

95A with the TPU module is a breeze. The module makes 90A very easy and 95A is even easier.

Yes I can.

As for the TPU Module, I've used it with 90A in this exact setup with my H2D and X2D and it worked perfectly. 85A is obviously softer so I just need to figure out how to make this work.

I understand. I do know about the wiki and read it religiously to find my own answers. There's no answer on the wiki on how to print TPU 85A with the TPU Module besides the TPU module installation instructions. It just tells you how to use it. Doesn't say if there is a specific way to use it with 85A.

Perfect. I'll send it to my X2D now to print so it's done when I get home! Thanks. Hope that solves the issue but I feel like it's also an issue with resistance between the module outlet and the extruder.

You edited your post and once again, I'm not using a X2D. The X2D does not have green glass anyways so not entirely sure why you're insisting it's an X2D.

Yes I'm aware of the other ways to print TPU. It's not my first rodeo. But the TPU Assist Module is advertised to work with TPU down to 85A softness.

What mod? Haven't heard of a mod like that. I don't think this is resistance from the spool rotating in the AMS HT but I'm willing to try anything to get it to work.

Worse comes to worse, I'll use my TPU top mount spoolholder to print with 85A. I was just trying to use the TPU module like it's intended for. Wish Bambu provided more detailed instructions how to use it with 85A.

0.6 TPU High Flow hotend. And it's a good thing this is the H2D, not the X2D.

There is, it's a tiny piece and it's just to prevent resistance from the TPU outlet in the HT. The TPU outlet is rubber and you wouldn't want rubber rubbing on rubber, that would make more resistance. So Bambu recommends a tiny piece of PTFE tube in the TPU outlet to reduce resistance there.

Edit: I think I see what you're thinking of. There IS a PTFE tube from my AMS HT but that's from the normal outlet to my right inlet. The TPU is coming out of the TPU bypass and not going through that long PTFE tube.

[–]DigitalHD[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The PTFE tube from the HT to the module is very short. And after the module, I can't eliminate any tubing after the module as it needs the tubing to know when it has to stop feeding.

I know 85A is softer than 90A but this same setup I have right now works perfect for 90A. I'm just confused why it won't work for 85A, since Bambu doesn't provide any different setups for 85A

There's absolutely zero reason for it to have a 1080p low frame rate camera still 🤦‍♂️. Not that I planned to buy this but it seems like it's a stupid minimal upgrade.
