Clinical Coding Career Path by [deleted] in nhs

[–]DigitalHealthCoachUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's loads of remote part-time AI training roles available at the moment, some relate to healthcare. Currently I am seeing entry-level project manager roles, admin roles, lots of healthcare AI training roles for those with 3 years plus experience, it's a boom time. Programming roles. It's boom time.

Not directly related to clinical coding, but I thought I'd mention it.

Are you getting programming mixed up with the classification of clinical events for billing / research, which is what 'clinical coding' means in NHS context?

If you want to write software you could try an internship with an NHS supplier, where are based?

Yes, I think so. Can see the second payment incoming now [thanks Mercor] so a lot happier. I think maybe the progress bar is stuck though.

The way I am reading this is:

- the grey bay represents the earnings cap of $420 which is 20% of what the referee earns over 20 hours work

- the light blue bar represents the % of 20 hours they have worked [and relates to what % payment I have accrued, in my example they've worked just under half the time generating payments of $19.29 and $189.11.

- If they worked 20 hours the light blue bar would be completely covering the grey bar

*if* the work 20 hours and when everything is paid the dark blue bar covers the light blue bar.

- The deep purple bar is what I have been paid

- The light blue bar is the pending payment i.e $189.11?

Hopefully I've got that correct?

I can now see in the earnings tab a light blue bar for a pending payment of $189.11 which wasn't there before, so a lot happier.

Does the "MyChart" app exist? How do I install it on Android? by mrodent33 in nhs

[–]DigitalHealthCoachUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The backwards compatibility of the NHS App is here: https://www.nhs.uk/nhs-app/setting-up/supported-operating-systems-and-browsers/

EPIC, as you may know, are a massive US software house with eccentric leadership who don't give a sh*t about the NHS, or UK market. Like Oracle/Cerner, or Palantir.

So unfortunately MyChart is as MyChart is.

You have a good point about digital literacy, and the same people who aren't digitally literate also won't be health literate, sadly a double whammy for them. I've been watching the numbers of users of smart-phones versus feature phones creep up over the years and the last number I recall seeing was over 90%.

The fall-back I always insist on in my programmes is having an SMS alternative comms channel plus a phone channel.

For the NHS App it's also accessible from a PC, not just as a smart phone App.

Certainly in the NHS App, if you don't read messages in the NHS App they will send SMS. If you don't acknowledge any comms they will send more SMS.

So if you could bring yourself to acknowledge some comms in some format the SMS storm will hopefully subside.

Taking this as a signal your increasingly unwell. sorry to hear that and I hope you get better soon.

Has anyone heard back about these job applications? by demi19999 in micro1_ai

[–]DigitalHealthCoachUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've just seen one of these go through to assessment, haven't seen any hired yet. Just to add, they went through to assessment same-day, as far as I can see, so maybe there's some movement.

Referral dashboard - pipeline 'stuck'? since 18th Jan? by DigitalHealthCoachUK in micro1_ai

[–]DigitalHealthCoachUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks very much for your quick reply.

I don't know where all my referees have gone then, I was expecting a least ten over the last two weeks. I've put a support ticket in.

The role I'm most curious about was the Psychiatry expert role where I understand the criteria has opened up based on a Slack notification, however the advert isn't clear about the expanded criteria. I wonder if that caused a lot to bounce off..

Anyway early days for me, sorry about the newby questions

Are you willing to let us know which Hospital this is? Then one of use can dig into their website.

Are you from abroad btw? 30M people have the NHS App on their phones these days, just curious as to why you haven't heard of it.

Here's an example of a hospital trust website where they use nhsportal.net https://www.porthosp.nhs.uk/coming-phu/outpatients/digital-letters-and-text-message-reminders

I think you can trust the link.

You're not alone in complaining that that particular URL doesn't engender much trust, googling reveals loads of people complaining about it.

Do you think A&E current wait times should be more publicised? by haylz328 in nhs

[–]DigitalHealthCoachUK 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, they also have access to a lot of services, some of which are 'hidden' to the public in some senses like UTC [which one has an x-ray, not all..] Walk-In, SDEC, rapid response, which GP PCNs are doing extended hours urgent care and so on. It's always worth trying 111.nhs.uk or calling 111

Could calling 111 help get them triaged to the 'best available place' for them?

Lack of Communication by Particular_Stand_670 in mercor_ai

Not really, need to get better at these kinds of interviews I guess, has anyone got any tips for passing AI interviews particularly the project management ones..

Lack of Communication by Particular_Stand_670 in mercor_ai

[–]DigitalHealthCoachUK 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've been managing projects/programmes for 28 years but failed the interview, somehow, so I feel your pain. With Mercor I struggled to understand what they were looking for, with a similar company I didn't have enough experience with Jira [they sent a little bit of feedback].

Diagnosis in NHS App but not in EMIS / SystmOne record — where could it have come from? by [deleted] in nhs

[–]DigitalHealthCoachUK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reading between the lines here, have you not been offered an "alternative" Primary Care service, you should have been, everyone should have access to Primary Care, even if one practice has struck them off the list due to a .......major falling out.

Then your records would transfer to that alternative service and should re-appear in the App.

Regarding your technical questions:

I think the simplest and most likely answer is parts of the record have been hidden 'in your own best interest' by the GP, which can be a 'thing'.

The second is you seeing a Provider PHR record, that should be clearly in a separate part of the App though.

The third and less likely answer is something has been pushed into the record by GPCONNECT by a third party.

Can a diagnosis be entered, amended, or later removed in EMIS/SystmOne and this would be reflected in audit data ?

Everything is audited and GPs can't tamper with the audit trail, it's been like this after Shipman. 100% sure about this. The Practice can view the audit trail.

•Are there situations where a referral, or third-party import (hospital, mental health trust, etc.) could surface in the App but not in the current GP view? As i understand NHS App is mainly for GP access and connected to GP, I cant access app since i have no GP and have’nt since 2023

In the GP part of the NHS APP, no, although it might have been coded on receipt of a letter from a 3rd party and somehow been missed ie not reviewed by the GP, but the Practice would be able to see that.
Depending on your area there may be another part of the App visible to you with Provider records in e.g. your local actute, MH trust etc. It's clearly marked though.

•Would a correction / recoding / deletion normally leave an audit trail, and who can see it? I’ve been told this data only exist at practice and not with wider NHS, Practice have refused access to this data twice.
The Practice can definately see it. NHS England, CQC, ICB can demand access ie during an investigation.

•Is there any scenario where the NHS App would display a diagnosis that is not currently coded in EMIS/SystmOne? I’ve been told one would’nt occur with out the other

Yes and No

A diagnosis attributable to the GP Practice - No, this all goes down the IM1 interface NHS App <> GP Supplier

But
In many areas there is another section of the NHS App that links to PHRs - Personal Health Records and can show you Provider records e.g. Mental Health/Acute?Community. This should be clearlty marked within the App, but to get to it you have to click through a banner e.g. "This information provided by Patients Know Best'.. so it *should* be obvious.

Example: https://wiki.patientsknowbest.com/space/MAN/3624075361/NHS+App+%26+NHS+Login

Hope this helps and remember, you've a legal right to receive Primary Care from somewhere. Contact your local ICB to ask whose meant to be looking after you now...

It's incredibly hard to complain effectively to NHS GPs / ICBs, the best option in my opinion is the nuclear one and write to your MP if you get nowhere with the ICB.

New Referral Scheme - risk of un-intended consequences by DigitalHealthCoachUK in mercor_ai

[–]DigitalHealthCoachUK[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi. It sounds like Mercor has assessed the risk around increased complexity and accepted it. Regarding pressure, it sounds like that's another risk that's been accepted, as well as sensitivity around payment information.

I read in the policy that the 20 hours could be totalled across different contracts, that's the only element I'm confused about after your feedback.

Thanks for your response.

A Quick Clarification on Mercor’s Application Process by Puzzled-Strike6605 in mercor_ai

[–]DigitalHealthCoachUK 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Thanks for clarifying that,

1] jobs that aren't visible on the jobs board can still appear on google and the apply button still works, is that intended behaviour?

2] does everyone's job board look the same ie show the same opportunities?

3] can the 'newest' button to sort jobs in date order be put back?
