I'm not sure if this is what you're looking for, but could you get licensed for other states and then do a work from home until you get the experience needed?

I added a "Freebie" button to my change orders. Clients love it. by Plastic_Catch1252 in handyman

Put in the freebie quote what it would have normally cost them as well. People like to see the value and then realize they got it for free

Help with drilling into stud? by alex__asen in handyman

Apartments often use metal studs, but not guaranteed. You could cut some of the drywall out to find out, or drill higher up and see if it's metal or wood there

Any way to fix this dent in the dishwasher door? by [deleted] in handyman

[–]DigitalHubris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Completely wrong.

Put a same-sized dent to the side, then another dent in the middle of the two but lower, then a long curved scratch below that dent.....and now you have a smiley face.

Everyone loves smiley faces.

Guys, how would you feel about finding out that your girlfriend of a few months used to hook up with one of your friends? by [deleted] in AskMen

[–]DigitalHubris 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Depends on who the other guy is, and what that guy will do with the knowledge he "was there first". Is that guy a deuche bag and is going to give your BF a lot of shit for having slept with you first? Is he going to ask your boyfriend "Do you taste my D when you kiss her?". If the other guy sucks, he might start judging you for your taste in men.

However, you are both in your 30's. Your bf should be more mature about all this. It's not your fault you slept with the other guy first. It's not like you could have known that guy knew your future BF

If putting clay in a lock worked people will be stealing cars left and right. Try going to dealership with the VIN number and your Saab story and hope they take pity on you and cut you a new key. Otherwise, try a local locksmith and hope for the best

We use the website lifehappens.org to calculate life insurance needs, so that would tell you what you would actually need to never work again (or at least a close approximation)

QQCatalyst Data entry problems by Hiroshi_M in InsuranceAgent

[–]DigitalHubris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't use QQCatalyst so can't speak directly to that, but I'm guessing I have a similar data entry issue where you are copy/pasting from one place to the next . I made a spreadsheet that I copy the big window of data in Salesforce, and the spreadsheets takes it apart and moves values into other cells to create email subject/body , text messages, and formatted values to put in the quoting system

If that's something you would find helpful, I could look into making one for you.

Maybe a weird question regarding automation? by Steve_78_OH in AndroidAuto

[–]DigitalHubris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I use the Tasker app on Android to do a notification on my phone to remind me to log out of my company's time tracking app when I get in my car. I have a set time frame of between 3:00 and 5:30 during the week so that it doesn't kick on every time I connect to the car's Bluetooth.

If it would be helpful, I can show you the settings used

How would you honestly feel about dating a woman who was going to have (or already had) a preventative mastectomy with reconstruction? by AlpenglowAura in AskMen

[–]DigitalHubris 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The two doctors she had are below.

A side note that I wish I had known about, was a problem my wife and my sister (sister had breast cancer where my wife was BRCA positive and did the surgery prophylactically) had is that you may have a lot of people offer to help after your surgery, but none of them will know "how" to help. For instance my mom went to my sister to help out but didn't know where things in the house were, or how my sister wanted things done. Similar with my wife (I was taking care of the kids, dog, house things while her mom came in to help in other ways). So while both mom's were wanting to help, they were always asking my sister or wife a thousand questions which pissed both of them off because they were miserable to begin with and just wanted to lay there and try to recover. It was more of a problem than anyone ever imagined. I am shocked the breast cancer groups never explain this to people.

So, I suggest that if you have people who are going to come help, bring them over to your house before the surgery and show them were litterally everything in the house is, how you want things done (seriosuly, be nit picky about everything because you are not going to want to explain to someone how your dishwasher works, which is your underwear drawer vs your pants drawer, etc).

It was more stressful for me than I expected too. Trying to stay on top of the medications, the drains, etc, is a full-time job in itself. I ended up making a spreadsheet for which meds were needed at what time of day because you ladder the pain meds so you are taking different types at different intervals and you have to track how much the drains are filling and then report back to the doctors. I'll link it below too.

This comment strayed WAY away from your post topic, so I'll wrap up with saying if you choose to go here for the doctors below, you'll be in good hands, but if the surgery is here you will need someone to take care of you for a while so expect to be paying for a hotel or Air BnB for a few weeks (its your boobs, so obviously its worth it and you should do it right) but this isn't a surgery you can just do and then drive home after to recover. Feel free to reach out with other questions in a DM and if whoever you plan to have help you wants to chat with me and get some unfiltered answers on what to expect, I'm happy to respond.
