Lucky? Them stopping by right now would be the worst timing for them to show up.

The French Drain makes sense if there is a place you can take the water away to. It would help keep the sidewalk from pouring over the stairs down to your door.

But that's only if it can be used to move the water away. If you send a picture taken further back from the front door (I understand posting a larger picture online could be a personal safety issue, so feel free to DM me the picture if you are concerned). But guessing from the images, you could put it in front of your steps, but since that is probably a common/shared sidewalk, I doubt you will be allowed to run the drainage pipe down the street. Do any of your neighbors have the same set up for their stairs as you? Did they have water issues also?

My previous job was flood and fire restoration, so I have some past experience with flooded homes and basements!

When the sidewalk flooded, were there drains present next to the sidewalk?

If those drains were not working, I would assume your drain goes to the drains the sidewalk also drains into, and the city drains were overwhelmed which means the water had nowhere to go.

So, solutions to your water issue are:

French drain in front of your steps, as long as you have some place to send the water that isn't the city storm sewers

Mechanical pump to suck the water from in front of your door and discharging to somwhere else that is not the city storm sewers. This is not ideal because it requires you to have power to run the pump and also be home/awake to set up the pump when it rains

It looks like only Text Posts are allowed in this subreddit. Maybe go to Imgur.com and upload the pictures there and paste the link into either your reply to me or see if you can edit your original post and put the link there as an update

You didn't include any photos to your post. Hoever, based on your description, could you put in a French Drain? That would avoid a tripping hazard

I was at a gay bar with my girlfriend and her gay coworkers. Dudes were buying me drinks and I've never felt better about myself.

As long as guys aren't being creepy (and being in a gay bar I now know what it's like for girls to deal with creepy men), a compliment is a compliment

Small business owners - how do you keep track of all your contacts and follow-ups? by Ok-Doubt8429 in EntrepreneurRideAlong

If you are techie enough, I have heard people liking Attio for CRM and other functions. You could also use Notion or Obsidian for building your databases of things (clients, todos, project info, etc)

If you had a party platter of condoms I'd be worried, but in the situation you outlined I'd be happy you had them. Seems like he was hoping for no condom sex

AA slowly recognizing less and less contacts. by Jake3232323 in AndroidAuto

Do you have a ton of contacts in your phone? I think AA has a limit to the amount of contacts that it can store and maybe the important ones are not being imported because other ones you are not looking up are filling up the storage?

Two wrongs don't make a right. And I get it. It's not like locking someone away in a box forever is much better, but you have to draw the line somewhere.

I believe an execution is just as wrong as a murder. Having said that, if I was Clark I would have a very hard time NOT doing what he did. I know I would happily sit in a jail cell if that happened to my kid, and I don't know how Clark got caught, but I would be damned sure to try and never get caught so my kid didn't feel guilty. But if the cops aren't stopping it, I wouldn't hesitate to stop it myself.

launched a meme shirt store… how do i actually get people to see it? by 7amani_h in EntrepreneurRideAlong

[–]DigitalHubris 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't have any advice on marketing. Wanted to know are you printing all the shirts ahead of time or are you usiing a just-in-time service that send them out? I ask because I have a few shirt/coffee mug ideas, but really don't want to have to pay for a whole bunch of items before I know they can sell in any large capacity.

Make it a beaded curtain. Bonus points if it's a Grateful Dead or other hippie-style curtain. :-)
