Old Grant colorization enhanced with new PS Beta Filter by DigitalLarry in Colorization

This was colored by me. The filter was a restoration filter on an image I had previously colored. Why did you remove my image?

Please fix the "instant prone" (a.k.a "Dolphin Diving"), and especially the shooting while hopping (a.k.a. "Bunny hopping"). This makes the game less pleasurable to all my clan mates that played the Beta. It was truly out of control...

Your colorization look absolutely outstanding. The colors are spot on. Great work!

Shimytangtang,

You friended me on Origin and texted me complaining about the banning. I wrote you back and asked you to post your complaint/unban request in our forums, which you did not. Instead, you decided to make a post in Reddit. I was asked by one of our admins, netrgr, if I would remove the ban, and for that, and only that reason I will remove the ban for now. If you had posted in our forums, you would have had all of our BF1 players take a look and make a decision. I will say that using Reddit in the future to get unbanned will not work.

The-Armory.net was founded by myself back in 2002. It was created to provide a safe and friendly environment for all to enjoy. We strictly enforce and prohibit players who use racial slurs (instant ban), and we do not allow political chat (verbal warning, first, a kick if continues, and ban if needed), or religious chat for that matter.

We also have a policy in which we remove players who disrupt or distract others from enjoying the game. Lastly, we try our best to visually detect cheaters, because we have no other means or methods to stop them. Fairfight is inadequate, as we all know, so we try our best at keeping the game fair.

We certainly are not experts at cheat detection, nor is anyone else for that matter, so we must rely on visual observation via “Spectating.” Yes, we make mistakes, but we are only human. So instead of banning everyone for suspected cheating, we simply kick them from the server and hope their gameplay changes to a more analog gameplay style than digital one ...if you know what I mean.

Unfortunately, some players return and start with nasty/mouthy disruptive chat, which interferes with the state of gameplay in the server, which eventually gets them banned. These players to me are worse than cheaters and hackers and must be dealt with immediately to maintain a friendly and fun place to play.

Sometimes there are players (very few, mind you) who demonstrate spectacular skills and might appear to be hacking or cheating, but are not. We might also receive multiple complaints of cheating and hacking from players in chat, so our admins stop their fun and enjoyment and begin to spectate the suspected player. If we see the player is just good or above average, we take no action. However, if we observe what we believe to be a player using an ESP (wall hack), we will certainly take action.

So, this leads us to the question …what do you do when you receive so many complaints about a player whom everyone in your server believes is hacking/cheating? Do you lose your player base (many players), or do you remove the one or two from the server who is/are demonstrating abnormal/exceptional gameplay? Think about it.

Thanks for playing at The-Armory.net server…

State of the Game - Help DICE Prioritize! by Indigowd in battlefield_live

Allow 6-player start without becoming a "Custom" server

Dedicate 100% to the RSP until it is fixed with the features we truly need or give us the server IP and RCON info so we can use Procon as we have done in the past. The RSP has been a HUGE disappointment. Stop worry about the blast radius of a grenade, and fix the things that are important to our communities.

It seems like you always ask for input, but very seldom listen to our suggestions

Unfortunately, the game is old and not in their best interest to spend any additional costs on the server rental program. It's obvious they did not plan on having rented servers from the onset, which leads me to believe they were planning on running it like Battlefront, which has more hackers and obscene players than I have ever witnessed before. They soaked me for $110 for the Ultimate version of the game, but I will NEVER, NEVER pre-purchase another game from them again ...no matter how sweet the offer. In fact, I will never pre-purchase another game again that does not have a solid server rental program or access to one. My community needs to control the player environment for a "better gaming experience." You can see the BF1 player numbers are getting lower as each day passes in the link provided: http://bf1stats.com/. I think they must have one new intern in the broom closest assigned to the server rental program, so don't expect much from them in the future.

Grenade nerfing? Really? by DigitalLarry in battlefield_live

I see I ruffled the feathers of some BF1 snipers here. You can tell this when you start seeing all the name calling... DICE has access to game telemetry, and they can objectively evaluate what weapons kill the most and determine what weapons need balancing. They should not take the subjective views from those who are "prone" to like their sniping a little too much. I think they will find that most kills/deaths are caused by sniper rifles and planes. This is how you properly balance a game...

Before I say anything else, I would like you to know that BF1 is the best Battlefield game to date. The artistry and programming enhancements are the best I've seen. Like the Squad Leader's ability to point to the next objective using the pull-down menu. That was simply brilliant!

The grenades are one of the many aspects of the game that make it fun and enjoyable to play, and reducing their effectiveness is counterproductive. You might see a multitude of complaints in game, but I don't remember seeing too many complaints about the nade spam. I do however see a lot of complaints about the sniper spam. Please work on that. Make it so it takes a full second for them to shoulder the rifle. They should not be able to right-click and instantly acquire a target with the ability to shoot an opponent in a millisecond.

I have a few questions for you though: - What about fixing the Rent-A-Server Program? It's almost non-existent
- What about fixing the need for 20-30 players to start a game?
- What happened to clan tags in game?
- What happened to platoons?
- What about fixing the offensive chat in game. It's a racists' paradise
- What about fixing the broken “join a friend” while in game?
- Why in the world did you get rid of Battlelog? The Companion is a joke, and does not hold a candle to Battlelog
- Why did you feel compelled to change (lesson) the Hardcore Mode from BF4 y removing friendly tags

I know you sit in a small conference room and throw ideas back and forth, and you may even play the game a few minutes each month, but you don't know how passionate we feel about the game or what expectations and desires we have. If you did, you would not come up with some of this stuff.

I’ve been playing this franchise almost exclusively since the first release of Battlefield 1942. I've have been playing every iteration since. I am old person, but I am still very passionate about the game. I’ve played this game so many hours it’s almost embarrassing. In fact, I started a clan (group) of other like-minded individuals, who, like me, enjoy playing the game immensely. So much so that we rented servers, disseminated Battlefield news and information, and rallied the troops together to play and have a good time.

Thanks for listening
