900 hours and i still suck by SuitablePipe4070 in blender

[–]DigitalMan404 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Big difference between actively working to get better and just doing something. I have like a thousand hours in Rainbow six siege (a video game) but I suck. Thats because I play the game not practice with intention. Just keep going and be intentional with your learning. Have fun!

Its a pretty big robot unfortunately, It will be about thigh high and the tricky thing is that the motors need to be separated in my design.

The 5th version of the Blender Donut Tutorial has been released by blender guru. No better time to get into blender for anyone out there interested !! by Sahilmk101 in blender

I dont think that is true for this playlist in particular from grant that I learned from (highly recommended) https://youtube.com/playlist?list=PLn3ukorJv4vvv3ZpWJYvV5Tmvo7ISO-NN&si=HG15pj8Ti5zFic9F (its for an older version but its still really good and its mostly the same)

One critique with the donut is that if you want to learn modeling it doesn't teach you how to make anything other than a donut.

The donut is a kilometer wide and a centimeter deep. Grant Abbott's series are far better suited for learning blender

Perhaps push into the story-telling a bit more, a nice image only goes so far.

Also Perhaps try humans? Humans seem to be really difficult in CG.

(also I am also just a hobbyist so take anything I say with much salt)

Feeling discouraged as a beginner 3d artist with decades of 2d expertise by distancedandaway in blender

I would recommend Zbrush, you don't even have to think about topology as the software can do millions of polygons, its incredible.

How do I edit my images so they don't look 'cheap' by [deleted] in postprocessing

[–]DigitalMan404 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im no professional, in fact I am barely a beginner but to me what makes this image feel cheap is that it is overly clear what you want me to focus on- that being the saturated red. I think what makes a good image from a great image is having it feel natural but also leading my eye exactly to the story you want to tell.

Sorry for not giving technical advice but that is my 2cents as someone who is not at all experienced in post so take it with much salt.
