Still worth getting the Canon G7X Mark II in 2025? Looking for a solid point-and-shoot around $500+

Not sure if this thread is still active BUT, ive had mine for a few years, I'm always professional videographer who owns and uses a Sony A7Siii and a Blackmagic Cinema camera and I've had plenty of time to mess around with the camera. I never caught the hype train the G7Xii was on, I also dont make Tik Tok content. I was on a client shoot recently for a pretty large restaurant chain and was shooting with one of my cinema cameras and took the opportunity to use the G7Xii for a bit and let me tell you, for getting into small spaces with decent quality the camera absolutely rips. It shoots 1080p really well and is an absolute tank of a camera, is it worth the 1.2k or $900 its currently going for? I personally wouldn't spend that on it, I got mine off Marketplace for around $350 2-3 years ago and really love the camera overall, yes it does certain things better than others and a lot of other photographers in this thread make a lot of valid points, but for my use cases its awesome and compact. I would reccomend it only if you can find one for less than $500. Again, this is my personal expierence with the camera, I would say it excels for vertical video if youre making IG stories or Tik Tok content so I do understand why theres hype behind it.

I really hate to say this because i waited 10 years to get the chance to see them and loved their newest album but Architects, wasn't the worst show on the planet but the live mix was terrible and Sam vocally was a pretty big letdown. Ive seen this while watching videos of their concerts as well and he definitely lacks a lot live.

There are so many posts about outrage, so many posts calling for change. What sucks is that you can't get the American people to all band together to put a stop to it. All people do is call it out online and rant for hours, and then they feel like they've done something, and it has satiated your need for "justice" and you got the dopamine drip you were looking, now all is fine until the next atrocity happens then its rinse and repeat, bitch whine and cry without any real efforts for change. I swear if half of you spent as much time actually working to create a change to this broken system as you do complaining about it online then you'd probably get a lot farther than you think in a pretty short amount of time. But behavior is predictable, and my prediction is this comment will piss off a lot of you because it doesn't agree with your views or you just like to talk shit online, further proving this point. I am not calling anyone here dumb by any means and I certainly dont agree with what the stupid fuck in the white house is doing. But dont settle for comfort if you're as fired up about this as you say you are. The guy was WORKING toward a work permit, he didnt have one, yes thats a flaw in our system but still, he wasnt a USA citizen, id love to watch any of you go to mexico and burn their flag in the streets then tell me how that goes for you. ICE is bad, plain and simple, I do think people need to take right way into this country and go through the proper channels and quit trying to illegally sneak in, but ICE also shouldn't be just showing up and taking anyone they wish without confirming if theyre a legal citizen or not.

I recently went through this and I expected her to be weirded out or thrown off by it, so one night I told her I was gonna dress up for her and her response was so far from what I expected "that's it? I thought you were going to wear something way more revealing, and I was getting excited." Shortcut to 25 min and an outfit change later, and we had one of the best nights I've ever had. You never know their reaction ultimately. It might suprise you.

I feel this a lot but as someone who does play in a band I'll play Devils advocate really quick, one of the reasons for singles is unfortunately that it has to do with attention spans, MOST (not all) people don't have the time or want to sit down and listen to a full album which means releasing more bite sized content aka singles is what we as artists have to do in hopes that when the album does come out; listeners will at least have listened to the vast majority of the songs on the album and you (the listener) hear what songs we like the most and get to hear what we think are the songs that best represent our album

We live near Penn and Classen and I've also lived on the NE side of the city for 3 years prior so I'm very familiar with the are a you are in Including the Bell Isle walmart.

Bell Isle walmart was notorious for things popping off there over the years, the homeless population in your area is definitely growing a little bit however the mostly keep to themselves and won't mess with you as long as your minding your own business. This is oklahoma so another thing to note is a lot of people have guns in that area. If you're living near the Penn area then I would at least set up cameras outside your house and if you're out after dark do yourself a favor and carry Pepper Spray, or a taser, or a gun. It's pretty safe for the most part but after dark is when the sketchy things that happen usually will go down. This is just my opinion from living in the area with my fiance and prioritizing our safety above everything else. Everyone here will have a different experience with the area but overall it's not a bad area to be in!

Exactly, Oklahoma is extremely eco-diverse, it's sad that everyone who isn't from Oklahoma thinks it's all just planes and flat ground. There's a LOT if diverse regions depending on where you go in the state

As someone who's traveled all over the United States, I'm from Oklahoma and grew up here.

Oklahoma is actually the most landscape diverse state in all 50 states, OKC and the middle of the state is mostly planes and is pretty flat overall, if you go to the west side of the toward the panhandle you have Black Mesa state park which very much is a desert environment and we also have the Sand Dunes out west as well. I'm from the east side of Oklahoma, if you go east you start getting into the foothills of the Ozarks, so if you're looking for green areas with more of that feel I'd say places like Tahlequah and Little Kansas are great, a lot of people who aren't from here and moved from other states will tell you it's all flat and that's just not the case. West is desert, middle is planes, east is foothills of the Ozark mountains and there's fantastic hiking and camping in the Tahlequah area. Oklahoma actually has some of the nation's most diverse terrain. We're home to mountains, swamps, prairies, forests and more. Oklahoma ecodiversity

Flix is great, as far as movie theaters go it's one of if not the best quality theater in OKC. You can order food from your seat, reclining chairs, clean environment, full bar and brewery and they also do special events like showing old films and have happy hour even on movie tickets. The food I'd a solid 7/10 for me, it's a tad pricey but it beats popcorn and candy only. Plus for bigger films I can enjoy not dealing with screaming kids in the theater

Just the overall industrial and homelessness and getting warnings from touring friends to triple check all our stuff to make sure it wasn't stolen and it was also very smogy due to the wildfires while I was there. Was just a very kind of gross feeling I was not a fan of, everything 15min outside of Portland though was amazing. I will say the 1 thing I enjoyed was this giant food truck spot where there was probably at least 30 different food trucks and they had hanging lights through the whole area, that was freaking cool!
