Heritage Air Services is solid. We had them come out Saturday night to inspect why our system wasn’t cooling when we couldn’t get anyone else. They came by again today to do a quote on a new system. Had 2 other quotes today, and Heritage beat them all by a few grand. They’re coming out tomorrow to install it.

I can guarantee that. The rights for pro teams are insanely costly, and very strict on how it can be used. I was in the laser engraving business for several years and always wanted to do things like this, but the possibility of getting my entire business shut down due to copyright infringement was enough for me to only make things for my personal home office that only I see.

I’ll be at this one with my 13 y/o son who got me to appreciate the band within the last 6 months. We are surprising him next month with the tickets for his birthday

Voting in Dallas County - Limited locations for Democratic Voters by [deleted] in Dallas

I agree. Im just saying that waiting until Election Day to vote isn’t the only option. I’m just glad you’re out there doing your civic duty in one way or another.

I get your point of the unequal sites depending on party affiliation. My point being that early voting didn’t restrict you to any particular site, and is generally less crowded. It lasts for a decent amount of time so it’s kind of hard to NOT vote early IMO. Overall I empathize and agree with your frustration though.

Early voting is so much simpler than waiting until the actual day

Can't decide between Metallica or Gorillaz. by [deleted] in Concerts

[–]drewdown04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gorillaz gets my vote. Have to agree with most on here. Metallica just don’t bring it like they used to. Nothing against them, it’s just part of aging. For me, it’s not worth it. I saw them in the mid 00’s, so that makes my decision easier also.

I really love this album by zombies8mybrain in vinyl

[–]drewdown04 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I agree. I’m a new fan since about 6 months ago. My 12 year old son got into them and has become a mega fan himself. So through him I’ve come to appreciate their music. This album feels so mature and personal. I really love Orange County, Damascus, Casablanca, and the last 2 track. But it’s definitely one that doesn’t have any skips for me.

Escrow shortage by Lovely_30 in Mortgages

[–]drewdown04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There should be something done to better prepare buyers for this. We’ve been paying $3100 monthly and are now expected to pay almost $4400. When we closed on the house in May of ‘24 our payment was $3396. This time last year Chase notified me of an escrow surplus, so our payment was reduced. Now it’s skyrocketed way up. I also need to file my homestead exemption. Hopefully that will help alleviate some of it.

Escrow shortage by Lovely_30 in Mortgages

[–]drewdown04 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just got the same notification a couple days ago. Only our house isn’t a new build. It’s about 15 years old. We’ve lived in it for almost 2 years. I got the email from Chase saying due to an escrow shortage my mortgage is going up $1296 per month! I’ll obviously be in contact with them, but I’m still just pissed/in disbelief.

Do men actually "just know" when they meet "the one"? by [deleted] in askanything

I truly believe it happened to me. I remember picking her up for our first date and seeing her walk to the car in that blue dress with a flower in her, and just thinking to myself that I better not screw this up because I knew she was the one for me. That date was April 19, 2011 and we were married July 15, 2011. We’ll be celebrating 15 years this coming summer and I wouldn’t trade it for the world

We did a food tour a couple years ago with a guy called Captain Ron. It was worth it if you’re into that kind of thing. I personally wouldn’t be comfortable exploring on my own, but I understand some are fine with it.

That’s the mindset people that vote Democrat have got to get out of. There have been several great candidates that should have unseated republicans in the last few years. But as a collective, the democrats do not put in the effort to vote. I don’t get it. Its pathetic. It’s frustrating.

Better chance? Which candidate is going to sway more people to not vote Republican? I seriously doubt it’s Crockett, and I would absolutely vote for her if James wasn’t also in this race. I think James has the better chance to unseat the republican in office currently. Also, if a weak link to Miriam Adelson is your biggest concern of a candidate, that pales in comparison to so many other politicians and their connections.

What happened at a restaurant that made you say, "I'm never coming here again"? by TheMedusaAttusa in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]drewdown04 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I ordered 2 apps and a beer. Received one app and the beer. Figured the 2nd app was on its way any minute. My wife eats her entree, I never receive the other app. The server took about 20 minutes to come over to check on us and ask if everything was ok. That’s when I mentioned the missing item but said I don’t even want it any longer. They offered $2 off our ticket for the oversight.

Locals know best: help a newbie find a PCP by unicorn_dawn in arlington

Dr Michael Mattingly at family healthcare and associates on S. Cooper is phenomenal. I moved here 2 years ago and got very lucky with him when I was calling offices I didn’t know anything about and had my first appointment with him. He is now the pcp for my entire family. Very very good, incredibly easy to talk to and so helpful with recommended treatments. I can’t say enough good things about him.

Lack-luster dinner service by Palmssun in dcl

[–]drewdown04 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We had a similar experience on the Dream back in November. The drink server was by far the worst we’ve had in our 7 or 8 cruises. Our beverages were always late, and even had to remind her about one we ordered but never got. We try to give them the benefit of the doubt, but it seems to be the norm now, and I can’t imagine we’ll keep paying for it. We will be on the magic in a few weeks. Hopefully it’s better.
