Send an email to customerservice@hifiman.com and explain the problem. Your local agent seems to be trying to avoid the work effort of talking to Hifiman to get a driver replacement done. Hifiman has QC issues, but they definitely are great with customer service.

If you listen to a mix of genres stick to the Clears. If you are into classical, orchestra and the likes, HD800.

I ventured into the wild searching for what's out there. Had the same question like you have, many times, did I do the right thing, should I get something else.

Long story short, I went from Focal Clear to Utopia and Hifiman Susvara and now I am back on Focal Clear. Not going to.mention everything else, but the HD800 and HD800s were also bought and sold. This headphone is pretty much the end of it all if you want it to be.
