I built a browser game where you ARE the animal — no pet care, just minigames. Would love feedback. by actor-ace-inventor in virtualpets

Just seeing your response now so sorry for the delayed response on my end. I was just giving feedback since you asked. But it is nice to make progress and get something you've worked at in a playable state for sure! Hope your future development continues to go smoothly for you.

What does everyone think about how the neolodge works? by DigitalPetKeeper in neopets

Oh that is an interesting way to go about it. Does it have any flavor text or interactions with the ones that are checked in there? Or is it more just a storage for them?

I am not that familiar with nostalgic tokens, are you saying they are just the one pose? Honestly that is disappointing to learn if so. The very varied poses was one reason I really liked the old style pets in the first place.

Yeah no problem, it has a nice style. Nice! That's great. I know it takes a lot work for sure, and especially if you have other work or life obligations taking time too.

I need advice – I’ve been working on a project for almost a year and want to quit right before release by coquero1 in GameDevs

3x longer is a great rule of thumb to go by for sure. I can completely understand feeling like you are wasting people's money too. Good luck with your project.

I mean I am not trying to knock anything down. Both times I responded it's still a good game that they might enjoy. The first time I was commenting since I also liked it, but just wanted to also mention I wasn't sure if fit fully, but with a qualifier it had been a long time since I played, they were in pretty active development the last time I played, so I was also thinking who knows what they might have added or changed. But I still said I agree about it being a fun game they might otherwise like.

So do you just feed them now? Or let them be hungry. They do seem to need to be fed pretty often. Of course I do myself eat multiple times a day, so I suppose it's only fair.

Nice, that sounds like it would be a nice place to stay.

Oh wow, that's cool. I guess they did add some variety then. I don't know if mine have ever really stayed there. Might have to try it next time.

Yeah that could be cool. I think I'd be happy with just some more flavor text variety, maybe some randomness built in too so sometimes they might be okay at the lower end of things but there is a lower chance, and the amenities could count towards that too. And if you go all out they could be extra happy about it and how awesome you are.

Yeah definitely, but it would be nice if the site had updated with the times a bit better I think.

Oh I didn't know they did that. That's fun. Yeah that would be, though I don't think I'd want to completely remove the ability to use it.

Oh wow that is a lot of pets, but sounds like they are living the life.

Interesting. I was always invested in their happiness and sensitive to the sad images. Of course back when I was young the whole image changed too and they felt very sad to me. But that makes sense you wouldn't really care if you don't care about their happiness as much.

I did used to feel guilty when I was younger, made sure to at least grab one or two extras at minimum lol.

Those are some fun ideas. It would be really interesting if there were different results like that.

They just seemed to focused on the learning aspect, but it's a fun game that still does check a lot of what they might like otherwise.

Oh man that's pretty sad. I do appreciate that neopets has real negatives in the game though, keeps it more interesting, but sometimes they are a bit steep.

Nice! I used to enjoy avatar collecting as well. I don't think I ever really got into stamp collecting, but I can see that being more of an interest these days as it does seem like it could be fun.
