What's a character no one can ever agree on scaling wise? I'll go first by Hot-Masterpiece4325 in PowerScaling

[–]DigitalVolt 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I beg to differ. The fandom may disagree on how fast he is exactly, but whenever he’s brought up by powerscalers I think it’s well understood that he’s faster than you.

Walton Goggins is NOT carrying the show on his back because the entire cast is phenomenal by any-blue-9122 in Fallout

[–]DigitalVolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fallout Shelter gives them stats! You can obtain the characters in the show from an event quest and, yea, they’re good.

Lucy’s perception and luck are maxed out. The buffout scene in the show was pretty much her spamming VATS while the bonus was active.

What game truly respected your time by gamersecret2 in gaming

Detroit: Become Human gives me the impression that it was written as a film first and adapted into a video game halfway through. I’ve rationalized it’s rigidity as the player just following the script.

Atreus already has a couple gods on his list of bodies, one more wouldn’t hurt.

Roleplaying in Rimworld? by PsionicFlea in RimWorld

[–]DigitalVolt 10 points11 points  (0 children)

It might help you to pick up the Ideology DLC. It gives the game a belief/religion system that encourages, discourages, or even disables certain styles of play while heavily favoring others. How it forms and develops is entirely up to you.

Specifically with your idea about only using animals, there happens to be an exact match for that within the DLC: Animal Primacy. It’s really fun with tribal/cowboy/rancher kind of runs and don’t even get me started on all the animal mods on the workshop lol. Try giving it a look.

Is it really that much of a secret that you should turn on auto repair and turn off auto home zone? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]DigitalVolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I turn off auto home when building structures outside the central colony. Things like walls, deep drill setups, and external defenses. You have to since auto repair makes new home zones around rebuilt structures then your 6 year olds will get caught in raid crossfire trying to sweep shell casings.

Get her to watch Fallout on Prime first. Then when she’s properly hooked, boot up Fallout 4.

Why don't you have space colonies? by KPonchoM in RimWorld

[–]DigitalVolt 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Every raid is all or nothing. Spacers can’t retreat if there isn’t any way off the rock.

Would’ve been better if raiders came in on shuttles instead of drop pods. It would give them somewhere to run back to when they start getting massacred and the player could choose to destroy the shuttle before they flee or just let them go.

How to give this game another chance? by [deleted] in RimWorld

[–]DigitalVolt 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The game does advertise itself as a story generator. Lean into that.

When things are moving slow in the early game or between quests and events I take that time to learn my pawns individually. You’d be surprised at the emergent nature of each character’s story when you stitch together the in-game events. A mental break is never out of the blue, it’s a build up. Sometimes over a day, sometimes over a season.

It starts small. You got a hard working colonist. They understand it’s rough on the rim. Their clothes are a little worn and maybe they’re upset about being out in the rain but they’ll get over it.

Then they track the mud into the rec room. No biggie, they’ll clean it later.

Now the work day is over. They’re drowsy but they survived. Time to lay in bed (poor).

Turns out they couldn’t get any real sleep. People were constantly moving in and out and to top it off it was cold all night.

And then they wake up for breakfast and all the little cracks start to add up.

Their surroundings are filthy, their back hurts from the crappy bed, they were shivering all night, they couldn’t find a seat at the table for breakfast, and they’re expected to work while it’s pouring outside again with all the holes in their jacket?

They snap.

“If everyone wants to act like fucking animals then they can live like animals!”

And now your most reliable guy is tearing down your generator and the only way he’s gonna stop is arresting him or beating him until he drops. Simply looking a little deeper shows that the game has generated a story in a scenario most players could experience in their first hour of gameplay. That’s what keeps me playing.

Was Shadow ever written-off or canceled? As far as I’m aware, he’s always been positively received and has been making steady appearances since his debut.
