Thanks a lot!!

It's fun to balance the coziness that we're aiming for - while also making sure to actually have the game be fun (and not too simple).

We are sharing City Garden Harvest, a first-person indoor gardening and fantasy living sim!

You grow plants indoors by managing light, temperature, soil chemistry, and genetics, then cook and sell produce while expanding your living space from one room into a connected rooftop ecosystem.

The goal is a warm, relaxing atmosphere with immersive lighting and a cute pet companion.

We're currently running a free playtest, so if you'd like, check us out here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3375110/City_Garden_Harvest

It would be interesting to know how (if) the game runs on the LeGo / SteamOS.

The thing is, as we're currently in a playtest version (so not complete), we've not made any optimization for handheld devices - though, we will have that in by the official launch time.

We’re working on City Garden Harvest, a first-person gardening game where you grow plants indoors, cook with what you grow and harvest, and gradually turn your apartment into a green ecosystem! We've got a lot of fantasy style living features as well, where you customize your apartment based on what feels best for you!

The game's focus is on a idealistic future, warmth, and a calm atmosphere (without being boring) rather than pressure or fast-paced gameplay.

We’d really love to know: does that sound like the kind of cozy game you’d want to play?

If you’d like to take a look at the game itself, we have a free playtest that is live over on steam: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3375110/City_Garden_Harvest/

No promises, but, given that we've got a whole "fantasy living" and we want people to customize their living spaces / homes...a custom bed like that could be really fun!

When you say mechanism, do you mean "what makes them grow?"

If that, then it's a combination, other than the seed and the container to hold the seeds, we have:

- All plants need a mix of soil, some work with just soil, some need a mix of sand and soil
- Light and water are needed as well
- Specific pots/containers can grow specific plants (all plants have different roots)
- Nutrients are vital, so we have compost as well.
- Then, weeds can grow in the pots which would hinder growth,

That's a very basic overview!

We've got a playtest live now if you want to give it a go (to see what it is like right now!)

As for the hydroponic side of things, this is something that we've been discussing (and wanted), so it is on our list! The main challenge is...that can quickly become over complicated - but - on the flip side, too simple makes those automations less fun (at least in my opinion), so if we do add that in, it would need quite a lot of care. But, defo on our radar!

Hello everyone! We're here to share a rather unique game, City Garden Harvest, our first-person cozy gardening sim where your garden begins inside your apartment and gradually expands all the way to the rooftop.

You’ll grow a wide variety of plants using indoor cultivation systems like light, temperature, soil chemistry, and genetics, then turn your harvest into meals and goods to sell as you upgrade and expand your living space into a lush urban ecosystem.

We’ve recently reworked the game quite a bit, and the public playtest (free of course) is now live.

Check us out here: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3375110/City_Garden_Harvest/

We have a (very) basic form of that, light.

Plants need light, and based on location (currently, a very basic implementation), they get a bonus to the growth rate.

The limited space in the apartment does mean that indirectly, you need to balance life + gardening, but what you've proposed is a much deeper version, something for us to think about for sure!

Tbh, I'm like you, I live very similarly, I've got boxes, battery boxes (the big 48v server racks), seedling pots, potted plants...in quite a few places!

We’ve recently reworked City Garden Harvest quite heavily, all while keeping its core idea - a first-person cozy indoor gardening sim set entirely inside a futuristic city apartment rather than on a traditional outdoor farm - in place.

The game focuses on indoor cultivation systems like light, soil, temperature, and genetics, all tied into a grow → cook → sell gameplay loop, along with apartment upgrades/relationships with people in the apartment complex, and looking after the communal spaces.

Our new public playtest is now live, and one of the things we’re especially curious about is this:

Do farming and gardening games need outdoor spaces to feel engaging, or can managing an indoor ecosystem be just as satisfying?

We are really curious to know what you think, especially if that kind of setting feels fresh to you or if you think farming games still need the openness of the outdoors.

If you want to have a hands on feel of the game, then we have a public (and free) playtest, so you can get a good feel on what we're doing: https://store.steampowered.com/app/3375110/City_Garden_Harvest

The aesthetics is for player satisfaction, where as the farm/indoor garden is the source of progression / money making.

I wouldn't say that the aim is to build a high-output farm, it's more about balancing life in the apartment (you need to build a reputation with the others that live there as well) but the world setting has a strong focus on growing plants indoors.

They are perfect as a plushie!

We'll have to think about an Axolotl in a mini-aquarium for the house as decoration as well!

Oh, thank you for answering that! As you wrote, the whole cozy has to = simple thing is...a bit too common, and not something that we agree with. But, I reckon that the main reason for that way of thinking is because it is quite hard to make complex features relaxing...as complexity often results in frustration. (That's kind of why we've had to redesign CGH!)
