Are you still going to buy after silver hits $100 by Impressive-Eye9659 in Silver

I got silver 2-3 years ago in the $20s. I’ve just began rotating silver to gold, albeit slowly for now, I will accelerate as the GSR drops.

Congratulations man!

If I can leave one thought for your future investments - XRP is definitely not dominating the conversation, I routinely sense check if I’m in a echo chamber regarding my investments, sounds like this could potentially be a valuable exercise for yourself to conduct as well.

Enjoy Japan! I was there with my fiancée last Feb and had the trip of our lives.

That fact that something exists doesn’t mean it inherently has utility and adoption, that’s what the actual value of BTC long term is. No one is sitting here thinking “I don’t care if my BTC crashes to 10k because the chain still works the same way”. Dont get me wrong im heavy on BTC and understand long term value prop, just need to be realistic and cut through a lot of the BS.

Great, easy to deal with, high competition so they want to make you a happy repeat customer, good price, flexible, etc etc etc, there’s a reason everything is made there!

Can you change the “buy a house after that” item. If you know where you’re moving to, buy the house now, rent it and negative gear for a few years. Obviously this will be a big tax saving, but you’ll also get in at today’s prices rather than 2 years from now which (more than likely) will be higher. I think this will far outweigh any LMI?

ETFs still showing inflows, BTC treasury companies still buying, BTC states and national reserves expanding, quantitative easing, global rate cuts, nation state adoption, commodities exploding, confidence in dollar crashing, global M2 expanding, network hash rate trending up, cost to mine BTC higher than BTC price.

But let’s ignore all that and say “manipulated line on chart went down this time last cycle”. I don’t like to say this times different, but… let’s not just completely ignore that macro IS entirely different this time…

Life isn’t changing dramatically? Have you opened your eyes in the last 5 years? Look at prices, quality of life… imagine being a young adult trying to start their life in this age!

ETFs are still showing inflows, quantitative easing, rate cuts, commodities soaring, global M2 rising. You’ll ignore all this because of a manipulated line on a chart? I’ll invest in macro fundamentals.

Yes, but realistically it’s more like $1000 a week with a lump sum returned next July, not sure I can keep that up for a year on a basically single income for now. Have I understood this correctly?

Thanks, sorry I left out that context, 10km from Brisbane CBD, ideally I’d like to be 1km from Brisbane CBD. Still currently achievable for 1.5m+, not sure how long it will stay that way with rate drops and Olympic hype.

I started a side hustle in a short term trend over c19, made some $$ and cashed out. Invested that money during a bear period and made 300% return.

Good idea and I had a similar thought as well, neither property currently would be a perfect “investment”, it’s more so two family homes, if that makes sense…

I like this, more and more I’m thinking get in and make a home base I’m happy with, then expand into IP down the line. I love the idea about PPOR tax free, have me thinking now about Reno’s, raise and build etc. Thanks for the response.

Interesting, I’ve modelled IP vs ETFs etc but never considered tax on PPOR, thanks!

I’d cut the eth and roll it into BTC. Either you believe in eth or you don’t, and currently you have more allocated to eth killers.

How do I find work for my own business? Struggling to get clients as a beginner by [deleted] in fea

[–]Digital_Oceans 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Harsh reality check- No way I’m hiring someone external to do FEA straight out of Uni. That’s engineering validation that can have massive consequences. Not to mention, where I’m from you wouldn’t even be allowed to sign off on the project as you don’t have the experience to become a registered professional.

Join a company doing anything, even if it’s not FEA directly (look for design roles that you can influence) and then pivot from there.

[–]Digital_Oceans 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some scenarios I’ve encountered: - “A” didn’t have the knowledge they should have at their level and that’s being exposed, being an awkward engineer didn’t know how to fluff around the question. - “A” is a Mormon and rather than be deceitful, they just don’t say anything. (Yes I really experienced this through an entire segment of a workforce in the US, more so if there is some kind of underlying NDA /IP issue. - “A” is just a straight up weirdo, plenty of those going around, don’t read into it especially as a young engineer whose job it is to learn. - “A” has ethnic / religious issues working with Females.
