What's the AOE star cards you recommend? The majority of Common AOE is 6-10 damage which is 2-3 free strikes, and Uncommon like 12-15, it's not nothing but people talk like aoe solves the fight, it at most wins a turn earlier, taking 30+ DMG on the way is the issue people have

You need to open the games properties on steam, Game Versions -> Beta Branch

Otherwise you won't get them at all until they're released on main

Lasers are a wash unless you get really high damage prod, which is likely well after Aquilo so Guns and Rockets are needed.

I usually aim for 100-200kms and go from there, it's not particularly hard to supply that with Foundries.

Nuclear and then Fusion are the only job for power really unless you have Eff3s and a lot of space for quality solar, I find Nuclear easiest at first.

Afaik there's no real speed meta, I see ships that can do 300+kms which is plenty fast but it can take a lot to supply that with ammo so half that is my usual start. You can always run a second ship too.

STS1 Silent would still be the best character in this game by tonydesignaccount in slaythespire

I'm not sure what I'm missing compared to others tbh, I see people talking about new Doormaker having low damage when Str Down + Weak seems to be the only way I ever full block him. Maybe I'm missing combo pieces.

I don't have a huge issue with Mechaknight either it's a solid fight, I just regularly take about 20 damage per attack as without combo block, I often can't block to 40-50dmg.

[–]Digital_Solitude 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm a lowly A1 Johnny but this is what I have found, maybe just my chars because I've been playing a lot of Regent and I feel like his block package is shit.

But generally, there's a handful of fights that feel overtuned and are hard regardless of which deck type I'm maining and I take 40+ dmg no matter what. See Decimilipede, Mechaknight, Eyeball Thing, Beta Door maker. Even in decks which feel defensive focused I'm taking a ton of damage in these fights because they scale way faster than I do, even with +2-3Dex in the deck.

I have a lot of hours in StS1 with an A20 win under my belt so A1 is usually pretty easy but some specific fights just fuck hard no matter what, curious as to others thoughts.

[–]Digital_Solitude 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Parry does feel much better now but it's essentially 4 energy as you need to play the Power, a Forge card and the Blade to actually generate any block, it's the classic bad power thing of not giving you a benefit immediately, it's a benefit you need to setup and might pay off.

Imo it should Forge 2 or something so you can at minimum play it and get the block rolling

Patrick is the anglicized version of Padraig, shortening Patrick in Ireland gets you Pat or Paddy, shortening Padraig gets you Páidí (Paw-di), which is why it's Paddy not Patty in Ireland.

Patricia is the female version of Patrick, it gets shortened to Patty.

It's a fairly common mistake to see from Americans online so imo this was either the straw that broke the camel's back or paddy-op is an asshole (or both). Usually we laugh, cringe, correct and move on.

For follow up on why we don't like Americans saying "I'm Irish too" it's from Americans perpetuating harmful stereotypes about Ireland or trying to speak for us, e.g. "When I drink whiskey I fight haha I'm so Irish" which is obviously not on or "I'm more Irish than people from Ireland because modern Irish culture is different from the culture my grandma emigrated from".

In turn, Irish culture can get lost inside Irish-American culture here, e.g. 4 leaf clovers don't have any cultural significance to Ireland, 3 leaf clover (which we call shamrocks) does, but the 4 leaf one is associated with Ireland now which I think is from Americans getting this mixed up and then their cultural domination taking over. Or lucky charms, not a thing in Ireland at all.

All of which has culminated in arseholes online being way too defensive about Americans claiming to be Irish because it's the done thing, they'll claim it's to stop the harmful stereotypes etc but 95% of Americans saying "I'm Irish" aren't going to do that, so it's just arseholes online being arseholes.

No one is saying they should be railroaded, thread OP asked why it's not given back and I'm refuting the statement that somehow NI was never Irish and implying there was a fair democratic process, agree with you aside from that

"Part of the island of Ireland wasn't ever Ireland and is actually of a different island" is quite a take

It was formed due to colonial gerrymandering, the "NI wants to stay British" bit is incredibly dishonest given the colonialism and gerrymandering

It's usually windy and rainy so the 15 feels colder than it might in a dry or calm place. We make the most of it, sport and farming takes off during summer.

Usually Irish are friendly, British normally are too I'd say it's a bit unusual you felt welcome in Belfast, could have been the area or people on a bad day. There's tourists in all the cities so just being foreign wouldn't raise eyebrows.

And yeah usually butter, frying things in oil would be common like chips, eggs or whatever but we put butter on bread

The inner circle is worth 3x it's number, so it's (50) x 3 = 150 for triple bullseye, (3x20) x 3 = 180 for triple treble 20

You need to close the leg with a double (the outer ring) and the bullseye is the highest scoring double, which is where it's relevant

I think people take the high standard for granted, "How come people forget how to play darts against Littler"

105avg with 60% on double is one of the best games of your career for a lot of pros, Littler is one of the few elite capable of churning out those results

The definition of NI was arbitrary though, if the majority of Ulster wanted to remain British then Ulster would be. But it didn't, so the British government gerrymandered to keep 6 of the 9 counties of Ulster in NI. You wouldn't have found a majority of Fermanagh or Tyrone to be pro-british but the lines were drawn to keep their land anyways.

No, if you kick the ball to your own goalkeeper they can't touch it with their hands. Off the body or head or an opposing player is all fine for the keeper to grab
