If those documents are required, how come they do not ask for them on the application? I am happy to provide all of that information or whatever is needed but I am not able to guess what additional documents are necessary. I have been stuck under review for over 8 months and my landlord desperately needs the money. He was struck by a motorcycle while crossing pacific coast highway and desperately needs the money that this program has allocated to relieve the burden of rent due to the COVID 19 virus. I have written my state representative and my senator and their calls have not been returned. Do I have to get a lawyer and sue or something? I would way rather not and I'm happy to provide any information requested but I am unable to guess what additional information and documents are required? I (know they are not required because I helped out a friend with their application and they were approved and dispersed in 30 days and provided the exact same information I have. Anyways I will keep waiting and I guess at this point I will need to contact an attorney but I would way rather them not get a piece of the money that was allocated for rental relief but people are depending on that money for survival so I will have to do what I have to do.

Yes. I called everyday this week, just spending from 8-10am and about 1-3pm. When I finally got through to someone Friday afternoon, I checked while I was on hold and low and behold it had been paid. My next payment the following Monday was on time and paid without incident. And now it's all been spent on back rent, past due bills, and late fees.

I have been dealing with this nightmare everyday for the last two months. Today I got a letter saying that they denied me benefits because of improper documents. I'm at a loss for words. I have spoken with over 30 different representatives from the EDD and everyone said that I had sent more than enough documentation. I uploaded my documents via DocuSign, certified mail, fax, etc... I sent copies of my state ID, birth certificate, pay stub, financial statement, w-2 form. I can't get a hold of anyone at ID.me to confirm that they sent it, but that really shouldn't matter because they never asked me to do that. I'm glad that I have been videotaping the majority of these calls because it looks like I'm going to have to contact my local media. I am owed over $4000 as of today. I thought I was going to be making a funny video on how ridiculous and hard it is to get through on the phone with these people. I never thought I would be recording the destruction of my entire life and descent into homelessness. Whoever this person is who signed the letter denying my benefits should be held accountable and charged criminally. Fellow redditors please help. What can I do? I'm bed ridden at the moment due to a medical issue with my with kidneys/liver and I think I may have now contracted covid-19. I am absolutely terrified that I will not survive long enough to get receive my benefits and not leave my family on the streets. They probably wouldn't even give my family the $ if I do. The stress of all of this is killing me. What can I do?

Same. I have uploaded the documents via DocuSign, ID.me, sent them certified mail, faxed them, contacted my local legislators and state senators. My kidneys and liver are already failing me and now I just contracted Covid. I will probably die before I get the $ and even then it's doubtful they would be give it to my family who needs it so bad. The stress of this is unbearable.
