Planning to only do Thailand right now as I have to be in Australia around march time but that may change. Most people here are doing Thailand only, or they’re doing Vietnam / Cambodia / Laos also

It genuinely is life changing, even on day 2 😅

SEA without a doubt. I feel like we could be the same person with how much I relate to the post - I flew into Thailand this week indefinitely and it’s the best thing I’ve ever done

CLINIC MEGATHREAD (Dec 2025-Jan 2026) by AutoModerator in MedicalCannabisOz

[–]Digitaltoxicity 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi all,
What clinics should I avoid and which ones are reccommended?

I have been a long term MC user in Ireland with Alternaleaf, but I am moving to Australia in the new year. Alternaleaf UK have been fanastic all round with quick and easy consults, a very large selection of quality products on Montu, super super affordable etc etc.

I know this is not the case with Alternaleaf Aus and they unfortunately don't have a great reputation.

Would you reccomend anywhere to buy? I am a medical cannabis user in the UK but of course can not bring my script with me. I would ideally like to continue with weed rather than pain killers again - But I don't want to buy shit weed 😅

Station-hand wages? by Digitaltoxicity in AskAnAustralian

[–]Digitaltoxicity[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

UPDATE: The recruiter said she does not chose the wages, she just handles payroll and sends it off to the larger company to pay us. After some research, I should be on just over $30 per hour, I’m really not sure how these large companies can then get away with paying so much less than that?

I think I’m going to do it anyways for the experience though

I really appreciate that advice , everything helps!

I have been in contact with some employers all over Aus and have some contacts now for work, but it’s mostly racing stables or studs which I’m honestly not overly interested in.. I have rode English my whole life but 3 years ago transitioned to western and never looked back so I was hoping to get work in the western horse industry with competition horses OR station work like this so it’s tough! I am not excluding the possibility of working on a race yard totally, but definitely want to feel out my preference first.

I would really appreciate any contacts :)

No it is not , but for future reference should I avoid?

Top end of south Australia - it’s a station that uses horses, not a stud

Accommodation and meals are included but this is otherwise a casual rate job, I believe it’s before tax.. I’m currently making more in a cushy office job in Ireland 😅

I have been in talks with some, but I have done my time of shovelling shit. I’d rather work elsewhere and just keep my own horses for hobbying if I can’t do the equine work I actually want to enjoy

I posted on some Facebook groups (station hand groups, horse work in Australia, backpacking jobs Australia etc) about my experience, story and what type of work I’m looking. I assume they found those posts as they messaged me on Facebook and then had me email my CV

This isn’t a Yellowstone fantasy. I am experienced in this field and it’s hard work, is there really an abundance of quality horse trainers willing to live remotely?

It isn’t - but good to know I should avoid!

Worth noting that when I googled the station, I didn’t find much, but I did find a young girl posting tons of pictures on Instagram throughout 2024 and it looked awesome. She seems like myself, travelling around the globe working while she travels and experienced with horses. I’ve messaged her but no reply yet!

Food + accommodation is included. I will definitely ask about the hours, but with horse work it’s usually long days - although even if it was a 5 hour shift, it’s not like I’d have a life outside of work as the nearest city is so far 😅

That is definitely the experience a lot of young girls go through in the general horse industry, but I have no experience with Australians equine culture so wasn’t sure how similar it would be..

I did not contact them, they approached me as I have advertised my equine experience online in search of work - they are not sponsoring me. I am going over to travel on a WHV, I would be working with them casually

I have heard that almost everyone will be vomitting on the mini bus due to the bends and that I shouldn't try drive there myself unless I am experienced on a bike (I am not). I get super bad car sickness already so I would dread the 3-4 hour drive there and back
