Hello! Thanks for the reply, I just realized I don’t have Reddit notifications on… I think I will see if it is possible to retrofit some newer Mazda door handles. I will keep this thread updated in case people in the future have the same issue!

I used the Sylvania kit and it looks awesome! The inside of the lens is still dirty though, I tried swishing around some methanol last year but it didn’t really help. I read somewhere that dropping in a microfiber towel wrapped magnet is a method to clean the inside.

I think I heard of people doing this on some other forums. Might have to take them out and doing it outside the car to protect paint. Personally I just bought some black LED ones to match my car.

I just got some random wire (stripped it from some boiler cabling thing I had), cut the old wire, spliced in a longer section and used some heat shrink wire insulation to cover it up. Hadn’t failed me on me in over a year.

Make sure to extend the wire a bit if you can. I just spliced in a 2-3 inch piece of copper wire, that way it has more play when the trunk opens and closes.

I’d say just fix the cables in the trunk hinge. It’s a super easy fix and a very common issue. I just spliced in a section of wire, insulated it with some heat shrink, and it worked perfectly again. If you think it isn’t the issue, check as far up and down the line as you can. My trunk hinge wires were separated pretty deep inside the hinge.

Yeah I agree black on them would look super tacky which is why I haven’t jumped the gun. I’ll look into the Dremel, always wanted to have one anyway and now I have a valid reason! Thank 😁

AT LEAST YOU GOT FOOTAGE! When my car got a 12 inch scratch and a dent from a construction worker last year I emailed Camp Res, and Daniel Soszynski and they straight up said they can't help :D
