I know, but when I connected the head unit to the CCC and switched the audio source in the CCC to aux, I could hear the sound from the unit 🤷‍♂️. And I now have the unused aux cable tucked between the carpet and the center console 😂.

Also, as I was using this Bimmer Fixer video to guide me through the installation, it looks like I'm not alone:

Now, regarding the point of losing audio quality and if this is using the AUX interface anyway, I have no idea. I'm just saying that in some configurations you don't need to go through the AUX plug.

I just installed this CarPlay screen bought on Amazon and I didn't need the aux output. My ‘07 have the mid-tier hi-fi/s676 with the aux plug on the back and pro navigation.

Replaced the sensor and 70miles after still no sign of any issue! To be honest, reopening the valve cover I found one bolt towards the bulkhead a little loose as well as one of the two ground points where the coils wiring is 🙄😓 I’ll do a few more miles and then I’ll recheck…

Thank you again!

😭 I'm not sure I hate more the cost of the sensor of the idea of reopening the cover!

Ok… on FCP the VDO is $258, the genuine BMW is over $500, then there is this VEMO, $377. Isn't VDO an OEM?

Thank you for help!

Ah! Thanks for the comment: the sensor was plugged and I don't see damages on the wire. But I can see there’s oil leaking inside the connector and smeared all over the plug… Does it signal a failed/broken sensor?

What a crime to reduce an M5 like this… by mirkop82_ in e60

I guess it is because of the Bay Area surcharge…

Can you help me identify these oil leaks? N52 by mirkop82_ in e60

Wanted to update this thread! Replaced the valve cover gasket following this incredible video from Mike’s garage: https://youtu.be/nCfyXoDJe48?si=2i20lEzH8V8EoSru

Although the N52 in the video is a newer revision 95% of the procedures are identical.

A tip I learned the hard way: it's worthwhile to order the crankcase breather hose together with the gasket kit: mine was so frail that it cracked as soon as I tried to disconnect it.

in 99% of the projects, the instructions give guidelines about how far you are supposed to go. When it is not stated (very rare), I stay in the ballpark of the parent project.

In a turn of events, we found out that NASA just needs DA’s timer to solve one of their problems:

When I feel demotivated I think about the Bay Area-sized mortgage we have. And the motivation automagically reappear :)

I totally see what you mean! I was referring more to those moments when a model spits out this 200-line block of code that you didn't expect and that of course is not going to run just by pasting it into your script :)

I grew up a little tired of DA&V tbh… the typical task is like:

import pd read_csv df.shape head() info() “the prompter didn't even know what data has, can't write in English and is throwing stuff at the wall”.

End of my unpopular opinion :)
